I am curious about said brunch. What happens at such an event? How many people usually show up?

PDX brunch is a fountain of awesome.

Sometimes there are cupcakes.

A bunch of us show up around 11am on the first Sunday of the month, sit down to a meal, and converse about such varied topics as the economy, the current situation in Afghanistan, and anal rape.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Okay, I was kidding about the first two topics.

that's a pretty accurate description, except you forgot farts and fisting. both big conversation points.

and as far as people, it's pretty random, although lately we have been having around 20. a bunch of the local SGs are going to be in Seattle though, for the emerald city comic con, so it'll mostly be just old creepy dudes.

wink

mmm, creepy dudes. Way to sell it, friend! tongue

Does this restaurant have vegan-friendly fare?

We'll see if I can get over my terminal first-meeting shyness . . .

Sorry if this is intrusive, but I can't join the PDX group so i am posting this here...

Hello Portlanders. I live in Columbia, Missouri and I have a 3-week internship with Sockdreams coming up this August in your lovely city. I am seeking to rent a room for that time period (SE area preferred), and I was hoping an SG member would be able to help me out. I've looked on craigslist but all I can find are super expensive guest houses. I am hoping to spend around $400 for a three week stay, is that a reasonable rate? I'm not messy and I don't smoke, though I am an omnivore. But I would of course respect my "landlord's" wishes about what kinds of food/animal products can be in the house.

If you have a room to rent please drop me a msg on here or email me at missfox24@hotmail.com with any questions (and if you have any pics of the property that would be nifty). Thanks for your time.

-Rachel

P.S. If someone would be willing to copy this msg into the PDX group that would be very helpful and really really appreciated. Thanx again.

SGPDX is having a non-brunch open event, so all you people who can't drag yourself out of bed at 11am or make it all the way to SE Portland, this one is for you:

UPCOMING EVENT: Sammiches!

WHEN: Saturday May 09 @ 4:00 pm
WHERE: SandwichWorks

My boyfriends, Kenny and Zuke just opened up a sandwich shop and I can't wait to try them. And I can't wait for you to try them either! Let's call it a date. Let's call it linner.

Starting in December and in an attempt to revitalize the once great SGPDX, we are having an open brunch event every 1st Sunday of the month. Time and location are a little fluid, but if you see nothing here or posted in the open events for SGPDX, you can safely assume it will be at around 11am at Crush located at 14th and SE Morrison. If you are new to the site, or have never joined SGPDX, then this is a great way to meet a lot of the lovely folks living here in Portland.

We look forward to seeing you there!

are you guys still doing these every month?

I know a dude with three nuts. True story. Our mutual friends used to tease him a bit in high school by saying, "testes, testes, one, two........three?"
