LI is still better then RIchmond, VA. I grew up on LI now I'm stuck here.

As lame as this sounds, I actually look forward to a weekend in the LI suburbs ... the city gets way too hectic, and sometimes it's nice not to hear the damn train or sirens going off.

i'm reviving this thread, because only a majority of long islanders suck. i there's another breed of people here though, and nyc oozes it's dope energy into us. who else is LI?

I'm in Bayside, Queens which is very close to Nassau County. I also work in Nassau County.

Out of all the towns here, farmingdale isn't half bad, I have it pretty good too in Merrick. Its when you get to places without diversity...hell, we live in one of the coolest places in the USA! 30 min from the greatest city on earth, rich celebs have private houses here, parks, beaches, shopping galor, and every kinda of food you can imagine.. I just hate the drivers and red light cameras lol

I'm originally from Brooklyn. LI is nothing like city life. It's too quiet here. Hahaa.
Also; when I moved here I lived/went to school in Massapequa (which is a blue ribbon school). Farmingdale is my rival town.

Born in Manhattan, raised in Huntington, lived in Flushing and Jackson Heights for many years, back to Huntington for the summer (apartment lease up), and leaving for Boston in two weeks for 9 months of training while the wife stays in Huntington with my elderly parents.

Long Island - because NJ needs someone else to make fun of, since we're tired of laughing at Staten Island.
