If you want to meet someone vaguely compatible.

Let's count the ways...

1. The cows look at you funny. Especially when your turn your backside towards them.

2. Finding a decent book store or coffee shop usually involves at least an hour in the car.

3. Most people's sense of style is... um... well, they have none.

4. Have I mentioned there's no cool clubs? Not one. See number 2.

5. They all want me to be saved... and I ..... don't.

This is too depressing. Someone else can continue...... skull

I was thinking that the other day, Detroit is miserable but at least it's familiar and I'd have company and misery loves company.

Course I'm closer to Chicago which is "the bomb".

Beats 5 hours if I lived in Detroit. On the other hand, my daughters are in D-town, and nothin beats that.

Yeah, it sucks to be in rural Kentucky most of the year, but this time of year I kinda totally love it. So much to do outside and it's just so damn pretty....

Being a city boy partially because my allergies don't bother me as much and there's just not a lot of places to hang out and meet people in cornfields.

I'm in eastern Kentucky; my family is from Elliott county. I agree with fukitol when they said they have a love/hate relationship. Some things I wouldn't trade for the world after living in the big cities that I've lived in. Other times I want to stab myself in the face. I can only imagine how an extrovert must feel, I get along decently by myself doing work on the land and reading.

I hate country music, but the song "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive," by Patty Loveless and Brad Paisley pretty much sums up the life and history here in few words.

I've lived in Eastern Kentucky my whole life and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I hope people don't believe what some hack Nashville song writer says. The people from the Northeast who bought the coal did in fact leave here alive with a lot of money.
