Making use of some vacation time i have, and using the new digital camera I am going to get for my birthday, I am heading on a ROADTRIP for a couple days. I am going to leave late Tuesday night/early Wednesday Morning.
My only set plan is to be inSF Thursday night for curry.
I plan to be back in Orange County Saturday Morning for a computer system installation job i have to do.
Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap places to stay in SF or surrounding area?
Also, What are your favorite things to do, places to see while driving?
I am going to steal the Jesus from my parents nativity scene and take it on my roadtrip. I might take the whole nativity scene. I plan to take pictures of it in various spots.
This is a "wing it" adventure, so nothings set in stone, and I like to drive solo, book on tap/cd keeping me company.
high way one down the coast is all ways super fun thay have cool little side road attractions and what not. drove my scooter from SF to oragon best ride that ive ever taken

So years ago I found an already years-old article (in People magazine?) where some people had a set of concrete Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs figures on their lawn. They woke up one day to find the (fairly heavy) Grumpy missing.
Months later he showed back up with an envelope. Inside was pictures of Grumpy all over the nation - in a motel bed, in front of historic landmarks, hitch-hiking down the freeway, etc.
I always loved that story.
