Same here. It's the "Twitter versus Facebook" competition which interests me. Love the openness of Twitter as opposed to the selectiveness of Facebook. Follow, un-follow... no hard feelings.

Protected tweets, I generally assume that a user has "migrated" from FB and likes the privacy factor.

Same number of followers/following, it seems more like an "I'll tweet what I don't have any issue with the world knowing" type of deal.

Barrage of tweets with no @replies, I generally don't follow unless there's something to really be gained from it.
