I wonder if the USO would take up an SG cheer show?
It's not likely, but it is something that you could probably find private funding to do, seriously.
You mean go to Iraq privately? I think it's a nice impulse but it sounds spectacularly dangerous. I don't shy away from traveling to somewhat sketchy places in the middle east, but occupied Iraq without a military escort doesn't seem like a super awesome idea to me, even.
Actually, getting military escort wouldn't be difficult. If you went there, they would almost have to give it to you, so as to avoid a media incident. Think about it.
It's really a pity that the SG Burlesque troupe can't pay a visit to the troops in Iraq. They could call themselves the Suicide Bombergirls and do The Dance of The Many Veils (That Never Come Off).

Especially considering the fact that Rigel, Sloane, Posh, myself, and a number of other SGs have been cheerleaders at some point in our strange lives.

Ya, they'll take the cheerleaders from various sports but not SGs. What a crock of sh**. At least SGs are real...
You know...those other women are real too. Maybe they're not the target demographic of this site...but I don't see how working for a pro-sports team as a cheerleader disqualifies them from being a "real" person.
I think that's a very ignorant attitude.
So they're not robot cheerleaders?
but how the hell are we going to win the war without robot cheerleaders??
Most likely the USO said know because SG is a bit "R" rated and they felt is would not be proper, Cheerleaders while they may be scantily clad is a bit safer and less likely to offend any one. They try to get stuff that they hope will be good for every one and some times that does force them to exclude things they feel might not go well (as in piss to many people off our make the military look bad). Otherwise they would of set up strip clubs in Basrah by now. That and the idea of girls who do have naked picture on the internet might not be the best people to bring into a Moslem country. Would the guys there like to see them? Yes, but some times you just have to make sacrifices for local politics and other things.
Ahem (clearing throat) not just "soldiers!" Flux went out of her way to support Marines when I was in country.
By the way, the USO sucks!! They send cheerleaders to huge secure bases for the potg's to ogle at while those of us on the front are still eating MRE's or tray rats if we're lucky, the only women we see are covered in burkas, if they are not, that means they are like 12.
The only POA I got to see was when I was stuck in the hospital and LeeAnn Tweeden made her rounds. (that was a pretty good day though )

Think about it, SuicideGirls is all about alternative lifestyles and alternative women who are free spirited and are all about freedom of expression. Being forced to conform and look a certain way and take orders all day and get told to do things you don't want to do all day (like, for example, the military), and seeing a bunch of "alternative"-girls wiggle in front of you without a care in the world... Could be kind of demoralizing.
Alternatively, a bunch of soldiers in a dangerous place far away from hot women would enjoy seeing hot women strutting their stuff and would simply not give a shit about subtext.
I don't want to get started on all the issues I have with the military as I could go on for quite a while, but keeping on topic, I will say this...
An SG USO show would undoubtedly be amazing! However, it could never happen. Why? Consider this... Do you really think that a military that has been trying to prohibit visible tattoos on its service members would like to promote individuality and self-expression?

*sigh*
You couldn't be more wrong. I QUOTE directly from the dress and deportment regulations I coincidently have sitting right here.
"Members shall not acquire visible tattoos that could be deemed to be offensive (e.g., pornographic, blasphemous, racist) or otherwise reflect discredit on the CF."

Besides, the army loves Suicide Girls
I speak primarily on my own branch. There has been debate going on for years about tattoo restrictions. However, I don't see it happening. It was attemped a couple years ago and enlistment numbers dropped dramatically.
