Yay!
I'm going to change my shift for this! (I wanted to anyways, thursdays are booooooring)....
Curry is my favourite thing ever and no one else ever much seems to like it. Except Kirsten, wah, but she isn't here.
Easy now though, I can't change shift this week, I need a week's notice. So it will be NEXT thursday, not this. I LOVE CURRY. And if you come, you will be treated to a special Dia surprise. Whether you like it or not.
Awesome! So each week I can RSVP and eventually that week's restaurant will by revealed via e-mail?
I'm drooling. Is it Thursday yet?

TNC is a rad idea and i think we should do it in portland, too. considering that pdx is like sg ground zero i don't see many portland events organized by board members (although there are lots of sg official events here).
what do you portlanders think? i mean, those of you actually reading this, which probably isn't a whole lot of people.
If you've been to an Indian restaurant, chances are you've had curry. I believe it starts out as a dry mixture of spices with turmeric as the major player. It can range from kinda spicy to super spicy. I've always had it as a sauce covering chunks of meat. It's good and tastey and full of tasty goodness. You should come along! I'm sure we can arrange for someone to pick you up at the airport, need be...
hey thanks requiem for the explanation! so curry is basically a sauce type thing? so then i could put it over some yummy yummy tofu chunks (as opposed to meat)? you think? hm....
"thursday night curry is to further the eating of curry and the drinking of beer in san francisco." -From the website
WOW! A cause I truly believe in and want to support! I LOVE curry (I make some pretty fine curry dishes at home too, if I do say so myself). I will try to make it to TNC in the next few weeks!
There is also Japanese curry which goes well with potatoes and beef or tonkatsu. But it's usually made from animal products. There are vegetarian versions if you can find them.
any other vegan/veggie suggestions would be great! i only turned veggie last september and need some recipes...
how it all vegan is a good start for new veggies. i don't remember how many curry recipes are in there, but oh god, the vegan chocolate cake. oh god oh god oh god. sometimes O will bake that recipe and i'll shower her with kisses.
