You could start by not pointlessly expelling existing members for no obvious reason.

I've given up after being expelled for the second time for not noticing another "post here or be kicked out" thread.

only a crazie would come out with a statement like that, i bet you're a communist as well wink

Yes. There will be no other UK group. Staff have stated this on many occasions. Now please stop jacking my thread and carry on your bitching elsewhere.

Right, Im going to make this really simple. You need 2 vouches for entry into SGUK. Believe me that starting threads in SGEurope in an attempt to undermine the current group will not change this.

The bloke just seems to have started a thread in SG Europe entitled 'England', with no 'undermining' whatsoever that I can see, just an arsey comment in his thread from yourself...wtf is the problem?

Such wonderful recruitment, and general SG integration (as opposed to alienation) tactics you have. whatever

in response to your question ... I removed my comments from said thread as they were off-topic as SGUK is the definitive group for the UK and the UK can't be discussed in SGEurope. apologies for any confusion caused, i have updated the post with a note that it was been edited.

thread topic here is for the public meet of sguk in leeds, speak to coldandwet for details

Not bollocks actually. There have recently been a ridiculous number of (or jacking of) threads about whether alternative UK regional groups can be formed and each time, the long-suffering staff have explained why it won't happen. This isn't an SG member's decision; it is the decision of SG staff. As for those of us who have been on the site for a while, it gets a bit tedious to see the same questions pop up again and again, ad nauseum; when a quick use of the site's search feature (or the FAQ) would present all the answers anybody could ever want. That said, people sometimes don't know about the search feature straight away, which is why I'm mentioning it now: It really is effective.

As for the alleged 'unfairness' of SGUK's admittance policy, as coldandwet has already informed someone, only two vouches are needed from SGUK members; providing that you come off as a decent sort and reasonably inoffensive. It's not hard to comment in two people's journals and make an effort to get to know them. These are the people you'll be meeting in real life if you are admitted anyway, so where's the harm in saying, "Hello" on their journals?

I'm sure coldandwet couldn't give a flying fuck that some random is hemorrhaging any sense of credibility with inane insults, but you might if you're not careful: This is a staff notice for the benefit of us lot. It is posted on the CE board, but the rules still apply here.

1. Do not, EVER, personally insult someone, even if they did it to you first. Attack ideas, not people. You can be removed from the community if you are observed doing this by a moderator.

Now perhaps this thread can return to its true purpose, which is for UK members to introduce themselves.

I love you. Lissom makes the point perfectly. This is an age old argument on the boards. use the search function and you'll find that this is a long repeated and drawn out debate. One which always concludes the same way. One Group, 2 vouches.

SGUK is really quite open. However we have no interest in becoming an extension of the boards and all the drama that ensues there. Therefore we have a minor vetting procedure which mean those people making consistently valid and thoughtful posts get in, and those who are dicks stay out. If you never comment, your not coming in because we have no basis on which to decide.

Ultimately the system works and has done for years. 20+ members join us most months and many of those integrate succesfully into the group dynamic, and subsequently attend our birthdays, homes and sometimes even our weddings.

Im sorry if some of you find this excludes you but I really dont think any part of it is unreasonable.
