The commenting *feature* is incredibly annoying actually it's down-right disruptive. I'm all for feedback, but shoving the form in my face just because I clicked on a set isn't the way to do it.

Imagine if nytimes.com blocked you're ability to browse to another story until you either made a comment on what you just read or closed the comment box by clicking the itsy bitsy x.

It's worse than any popup because it takes over the entire browser. It's just bad UI and has got to go.

(Love the new viewer though ... thanks for leaving the html one in place though for my slow visits)

thanks.peet

There should be an option in your settings now to disable it.

I agree with the above. Sort of. But I think it's a greatgreat idea to get people to comment on each set they see.

As for clicking 'not for me,' I'm interested to see which way the 'give staff bad feedback on a set' option goes... sometimes I damn well wonder what makes the team turn down some great attempts at modelling for the site (sometimes visible in the wannabe SGs group) and then publish a really lame set some time later, and I don't think I'm alone amongst members in wondering that. So maybe direct feedback from members to staff is a good thing. Then again, it's already so competitive and so difficult to get a set accepted, that maybe staff recieving bad feedback on a girl can only make it worse...

Incidentally, what do you do if your feelings are mixed? biggrin

It pops up even before I'm able to see the set...which is kind of pointless.

I'm glad there's a way to give negative feedback, personally. I don't think I'll use it that much, but it's nice that it's there--gives a sense that the staff cares what we want to see, as opposed the comments, which are pretty much just for flattery purposes.

I'd really like to see the negative comments, though. (Don't ever expect that to happen, since that would mean telling the girls how many people didn't like their sets. Even if you've got a thousand people saying you're hot, it's probably still annoying to know that 200 complained...)

haha i totally agree. i see some amazing sets in the hopefuls group that are turned down because of something like "lighting" for example even though the lighting isn't that off. then they'll put up a set that is shot recently with awful lighting. it has all left me completely baffled confused

apparently there are some issues with it because now there are 76365363478 "i loved it" comments in the newest girls set threads.

and it's posting some people's opinions 5 or 6 times in a row making it impossible to look through the comments on a set without going insane.

that happens if the person doesn't type anything in the box before they press "I loved it'. apparently people are not aware of the fact that they are supposed to type a comment before hitting that button.

I too have been wondering about the purpose of the "not for me" button. Where do the comments go? What is the staff hoping to get out of them? What do they plan to do with them?

These aren't paranoid, accusatory questions, just honest curiosity. Any mods/staff out there care to comment?

yes, i guess that should be clarified.

but also the same "i loved it" from the same person will be posted 5 times in a row. there are some kinks to work out still, i suppose.

i am not sure how i feel about it. more people commenting is cool, people commenting 'i loved it' sucks, and negative feedback.... hrmm. i have a feeling the staff will have to be reading a lot of idiotic emails [i assume the comments are emailed to them.]

I think that it is a good idea!

It sends good feedback back to the staff. That way they know what the members like and don't like. That way they can assure that we get the best of the best!

I think you should have to type something before it allows you to click the "love" or "hate" button. Otherwise... totally pointless!

I also agree with Drake.

I'd love to know more about the purpose of the feature other than encouraging people to comment.
I do think it's nice though that the girls are actually getting more comments now - it used to drive me crazy when I saw a set go up - and out of ALL The people on here they'd only get maybe 100 comments.

Heehee. My first attempt was turned down because it was underexposed. Did another and it was overexposed. *Shoot!* wink
