To all those annoying retards harassing people on webcams to get their bits out male or female please refer to the FAQ specifically the section relating to webcam use.

12.7 Can I beg users who are on cam to perform for me?

Any Suicide Girls who are on cam are on cam as a hobby and are not paid by SG to be on cam, do cam shows, perform, or otherwise serve members while on cam. Please use your head and refrain from harassing SGs who are on cam. Same goes for members. Do not harass or make demands of any member or SG on cam for any reason. Everyone on cam is on cam for their own entertainment and is not required to perform for you in any way.

STOP ASKING TO SEE MY TITS PLEASE!

But seriously... stop asking people to see their tits. It's rude. If they want you to see them they're perfectly capable of showing them without you drooling and begging like a moron.

I think there is a distinction between innocently hinting at a desire to see boobs and demanding rudely that boobage be presented. There is a line that can be crossed. But a big part of the fun of the webcams is checking out hot naked people. I mean, it's that kind of a website, innit?

When chat was around the first time, there was all sorts of show-and-tell going on with the webcams.

When a woman can't venture into chat with a webcam without being hounded and harassed to show skin and called an uptight bitch and harassed in chat and in private messages when she says "No, fuck off," something is wrong with the dynamic.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But it's usually pretty easy to distinguish the people who are being playful and relatively polite and the "whr r the tits plz" crowd.

There has been a steady stream of incidents and after doing a minimal amount of searching e.g. going to the FAQ I found the relevant information stating that SG management does not condone the harassment of Suicide Girls or members by individuals wishing to get their rocks off via webcam.

Sure there are other groups where such behaviour is welcome e.g. the masturbation group chat room etc however to target and harass people in the main SG chat channel is not cool or funny. Neither is IMing the people in those rooms to the same end.

The incidents have not effected me personally however they have effected my girlfriend and various of our mutual friends and I am sick of them having to put up with this shit.

edited to say:

Just to note I like boobs as much as everyone else on this site however some people seem to lack the tact to understand when or when not asking to see someone's boobs is appropriate especially when they have repeatedly told you no and you continue to im them and as Shalome says start calling them an uptight bitch, stupid cunt etc because they won't show their boobs to you.

Is it really that bad? I mean, I think of myself as cynical regarding people on the internet, but that's above and beyond what I would expect. Especially a site that seems to be pretty defensive about such things.

Yeah that is all well and good to do that and block the person but it gets fucking annoying when there is a string of people doing the same thing and you are trying to hold a decent conversation with some of your friends.

I've been in the main chat room channel a lot and I haven't seen anything I would say crosses the line into harassment. It's sometimes pretty busy in there though so I could have missed it...

Are people sending private IMs being insulting or is this something that's happened in the main chat channel?

it involves both messages in the main room prehaps more subtle but then followed up by repeated IM insults and harassment when said person's requests for boobage are rebuffed.

Well theres also the fact that many ppl have already shown their naughty bits before is it really such a bad thing to expect it again at some point? Yea some just might not be in the mood then turn off your cam. If theres still harassment then just leave. Or better yet why doesn't the person being "harassed" simply be the bigger person and say that its making them uncomfortable and that if the person continues inform them you have nothing else to do but report them.

And its typing you can't actually here how the person may be saying for all we know they can be laughing hysterically as they type "WEBCAMS=TITS NOW LETS SEE 'EM!!" or "wow big tits and a webcam lets see em...now!" Come on guys ease up a lil its not like they are going to to physically attack you through the computer if you don't get any action.

Whoa I seriously started up a topic on this like 10 minutes before this one came out. Someone should delete it cause everyone's talking here.

In chat there's not really any way to flag things people say to you is there? If it's in an IM do we just have to keep it open and email the board moderates and paste the text to them? What if it happens in the main channel and it's already out of the buffer? No one's being mean to me personally at the moment but the girls seem to get it an awful lot and it would be nice to know the procedure for dealing with mean people who violate the TOS. Because of the nature of the chat room it requires a considerably faster response than abuse on the boards.

Each time I get an IM on my average-performance PC it locks up the entire browser instance while it loads up the .swf and it takes about 10 seconds for the entire chat interface (and any other windows open in that browser instance) to start working again. That may not seem like much at all, especially to one who's primarily used to using a board like this, but in a chat room where it's moving at a speed where the buffer is only 60 seconds anyway, 10 seconds is a long ass time. The block feature works for the over usage of IMs as a means of harassing, but if there's 50 users in the room that's a lot of blocking people.

what you say is fair enough in some respects however

I have done an SB set, maybe a girl is an SG or has done a set for PSW or IBTC or whatever it doesn't mean that we are all here to get naked at a drop of a hat just to please a strangers whim.

Also when we as a bunch of friends are using SG to webcam conference so to speak and chat why should we stop using the site / webcams simply because some idiot doesn't know how to take no for an answer.

That said:

Most of the characters on chat that I have come across who have been the cause of trouble tend to have no or minimal profile / comments on the site and that is generally a good indicator that they are creepy as fuck in the first place and are simply here for boobies and to get their rocks off rather than be part of a community.

So maybe that is a solution to use chat you have to be an active member of the site for a specified period before you are given access... maybe a comment count or something?

Sorry Beppo I saw your post after I started this thread and definitely thought I should have posted this in there instead but at least we have people talking about the subject now.

----- to everyone----

look I am down with boobie banter and god forbid the odd penis banter that is thrown around in chat that is different to the creepsters that hardly comment in the main room except to ask to see boobies or to announce they can see someone's boobies or to respond to someone posting their creepy IMs in the main room and telling them to get fucked.

Yea I agree I have also posted PSW sets and I didn't say what I mean correctly. We don't have to subdue to the harrassment but it shouldn't be unexpected.

Yea like puke myspace they have a 7day sentence before given access to groups. Instead of automatic zots maybe some suspension periods as it escalates to the zot.

Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else but I did a search for "IM" and 79 pages came up!

Anyway, does anyone know if there is a way to turn this annoying feature off? I will be trying to type in chat and the IM box is forever opening from people that I don't wish to talk to. I end up losing everything I have typed and then I get major lag.

I know, it's not the end of the world or anything but I'd really like to be able to turn it off.

I agree with you tracee.
But...it's a chatroom...You're always going to get preverted fucktards in there. Maybe turning off IM'S could be the answer, but then again you can't receive IM'S by your friends or other members trying to have a friendly chat.
So in the end...just block them..it seems less trouble to me.

Nobody's been called an "uptight bitch" or anything like that that I've seen.

What I think he's getting at is the people who aren't quite intelligent to realize that you're more likely to see such things if you DON'T ask for them but react positively/intelligently when you actually do get to see them (if that's what you're after). Actually engaging people in friendly and at least semi-intelligent conversation doesn't hurt either. That's what the chat is actually there for.

Every so often there'll be that one guy who just starts asking each gal he docks to show her boobs. People let him know it doesn't work that way. I guess I'd consider that rude behavior, but I've seen nothing where it got insulting when the recipients of these tactless requests decline to disrobe on demand.

Yeah, I end up getting pretty disgusted with some people in chat. I've got absolutely no issues with people getting nakey on cam, but people BEGGING to see nudity is really, really pathetic. And annoying.

Turning off the IMs would probably make things WORSE. As some of the worst exhibitionist types and the cyber lovers would be doing their thing right in the main channel.

I think that while the interface is a bit slow and at times clumsy, how it is currently set up works nicely. Someone sends you an IM request, you say no. If they do it again, you can block them. Or you can just block 'em right away, they'll generally not try again later.
