It was so fun to relive all the Wizard Of Gore and Dwarves moments again....and me humping

Hey, much like Juanupsman, I've never really heard of the show Icons until now... er, well, not this thread, but until SG was going to be featured (was SG "featured"? I don't know) on it. Can someone tell me about it? I know I could probably google it and find out from the rest of the internets, but I'd love to have someone tell me about the show and how SG fits into it all. I don't have cable and my antenna isn't exactly top notch (at least I have some rabbit ears, otherwise I'd get nothing) so what I get is UNCTV really, really well, and then like, CBS or Fox or something like that, I think actually two channels in a sorta okay way (they're totally watchable, but kinda fuzzy), and NBC is really super fuzzy, as is another channel or two (yeah, I can hear what's going on, but I can barely see who any of the characters are and mostly have to recognize them by voice and where I think they're placed onscreen), and then the rest are either so fuzzy you can only tell there's something on because you hear someone talk sometimes, or they're pure snow. To sum up, I haven't watched TV since I moved to North Carolina except on a few very special occasions (season finale of West Wing, President addressing the nation, friend recommending some show on CBS that I agree to try because, well, I actually get CBS. but show turns out to suck, etc) and am totally out of touch when it comes to even understanding shows. As such, I would appreciate some sort of rundown on the type of show Icons is, as well as a general plot summary for an average episode, and then what kind of role SG has on the episodes in which it's featured, as from what I've seen, it has been at least mentioned on more than one. Would anyone be so kind as to bring my luddite ass up to date?

Thanks!

Icons started as an A&E Biography-type show for G4. It originally focused on video game creators, and video game franchises. As G4 began to focus on more than just games, and more on the "average gamer demographic" (males 18-34), Icons began to feturs episodes on actors, writers, and websites. I only saw the first episode ( I thought the latest one was just a rerun), but they had a few interviews with Missy about the nature of the site. There was some footage of other girls talking about the site and what they like about being onthe site. But the main focus of the episode was on two potential girls to see which one would end up going pin. In the end they both did.

I think Vanessa's interview stayed about the same length. But you definitely had a longer interview on this one than on the one that previously aired.

So G4 is an entire channel that mainly caters to the "average gamer demographic"?

It used to be TechTv. It used to be awesome. They had quality hosts, and quality shows on. Then G4 bought them, and who knows what they were thinking. TechTv crumbled and this shell of a "gamer" station was left. I really don't think they are truly catering to the "average gamer demograhic" because man, I know a ton of gamers, and I can't see any of them wanting to watch "Cheaters", nor "The Man Show".

Icons used to be more geared toward video games, but I guess they renamed the original show, and put forth this "pop culture" version that the "average gamer demographic" actually hates.

I could go on ...

Unfortunately, when they say "average gamer demographic", they don't mean "hardcore gamer". They just mean males (of all races, backgrounds and socio-ecconomic strata) ages 18-34. For better or for worse, it's slowly becoming Maxim-TV.

I used to subscribe to Tech TV. It had some pretty good stuff, things about the online world, and even the business aspects of the net. Some of it was quite good.

I dropped my subscription to G4. Well, I needed to drop a tier to save money, and since G4 was nothing but shows about video games, I gave it up.

Now I find out there are partially clad women on it.

I don't suppose there are copies of these Icons episode floating around out there, are there?

I sadly didn't catch the first one (because I'm stupid and just assumed I didn't get G4, when I do lol) so I only saw this one.

But it was great!! Nice to see all the behind the scenes, and everyone's voices, laughing and hanging out. The interviews with Missy were also cute.

Props to all you SG's that were on there. I def thought Taye, Vanessa, and Minx were too cute on it.

Altho, I am wondering about the previous show that you guys said talked about hopefulls. I'm a hopeful myself so I'm just wondering did the two girls they follow ever go pink? Opps, heeh I just answered my own question...I see that they are pink. What exactly did it say about them tho, I'm curious?
