Umm... I'm trying not to be a complete dick but I've noticed that over the last couple weeks more and more sets are given a once over with photoshop. It may have been happening all the time and I'd only know about it if the girls said, "Oh hey! O shopped/chopped my mole!" but now it looks like a lot of sets are getting the greasy glass treatment.

Is there a reason for this? It's putting a horrible taste in my mouth, I mean seriously if I wanted blur and healing tool I'd renew Playboy. frown

Not to say I don't love the sets, but seriously, leave 'em natural please, pretty please?

I didn't mean this to be a total flame, I just wanted to voice a concern as the foundation of my SG viewing experience has been cracked.

They're all photoshopped to some degree and have been for a long time.

they've always been photoshopped.
i think what you're referring to is something i've been noticing a lot recently though: matting out the girls and blurring backgrounds to try and make it look more shallow-focused. it doesn't work. it just makes me dizzy.

and then beyond that, there's been a lot of glow filters being used.

I do agree, the median layer is getting used WAY too heavily. The median secret must be out!

Greasy glass treatment?

I mean, I do have to admit, some photoshop elves are a little less heavy-handed than others, but photoshop is to digital photography as the whole freaking development studio is to film photography. It perfects the image, corrects colour, adjusts contrast and helps focus the image.

I don't thing there's anything wrong with it. If I wanted the world to see certain scars, I can be very specific about them not photoshopping. At the same time, there are certain things I like to reserve specifically for me and those close to me, like some of my scars, and would prefer not to reveal them to the world.

Yeah, i acknowledged that they may have always been photoshopped, but it was never really noticable. Now I look at a new set and it looks like the girls have rubber skin frown

Actually a set of mine had to be re-shopped because they wanted it more natural, so the SG overlords are on the case, don't worry.

most of the official photographers do their own photoshopping, so just as we all have our own styles of photography, we have our own style when it comes to photoshopping.

when a set is passed on to the photoshop elves each of us has our own style of photoshopping as well. we do have specific guidlines though, and if a girl asks for certain things like scars, moles, etc. to either be left in or taken out, we do try to follow her wishes.

Yeah, noticed is the key. AS many have said already, pretty much all the sets are edited to some degree; however, you're also correct in taht lately it seems like alot of em have a real . . . obvious (to be polite) look to it. Also, if I recall correctly, on many of them i remember thinking, "this probably looks a lot better un photoshopped."

yeah, exactly. if you look at any of cherie's other sets, they all have the same kind of style and effect. who cares if you don't like it. don't fucking look.

Stop printing the pictures out and eating them, Deepdish.

Click around in this section and you'll find assorted photographers with different techniques, aesthetics, and styles. Lucky for you, there are scores of them shooting what I think are now five bojillion girls. Some of them have gone with a muted and subtle look whereas others have a fun, vibrant, and hyper stylized look ala McG and his Charlies Angels flicks.

If you still don’t see anything you like, maybe you should go back to Playboy with it’s bear skin rug humping bottle blondes. wink

I was saying I didn't like playboy. Anyway i'm just glad to know I'm not the only one who's noticed it. I'll go back to my lurker's corner now.

i totally agree, i noticed a few of the more recent ones had blurry-ish backgrounds or just looked a lil fuzzy......maybe they were trying to enhance/fix pics that seemed too sharp or distracting?

Like Oryx said, every one of the Photographers and Photoshop Elves have their own styles and maybe it's just that more have gone up recently side-by-side that have been prepped by the same person?

I think sometimes it depends on the look and "feel" that a girl wants in her set too. For instance, I try my hardest for the sets I shoot and photoshop to not have that photoshopped look to them, but there are a few that I've shot that it's been the desired effect for it to have a certain look and it's necessary. Maybe this is a trend and a lot of girls happen to want their sets to look this way recently? Trends come and go.

There are still sets that are less photoshopped. Take a look at Geraldine's and Luz's set for instance (phwoar!!) <3

I do agree that a lot more sets seem to have the 'Diffuse' option applied to them these days which is a shame. IWhat is more beautiful? Real skin or a soft focus blur? - I think unless the model and photographer on the shoot are specifically using that kind of look as a central theme to the set, its probably not needed. I think some sets that have been photoshopped for a purpose look absolutely amazing - Twwly and Aminas recent set was absolutely fantastic and it really made my day. But I also like to see really 'real' sets of girl-in-the-mosh-pit type beauties!

There's really no need to fucking be like this, people. Jesus fucking Christ. I noticed my last set was kinda way photoshopped. But what can you do, it's not like I asked for it to be that way. It's just what happens.l

The backgrounds often wind up blurry to keep the images at a reasonable pixel length and reasonable quality save. If the background is super noisey, there's not a lot of options unless you want an undersize picture on your screen. Which isn't an option.

And sets have always been prepped.

Every photog on here has a different look and a different style of prepping. It's just a part of the process.

there's nothing wrong with photoshop, there's probably a lot more photoshopped in the pictures than we know or notice.
but it is getting kinda noticeable that there's an increase in the sets where the girls are photoshopped to the point where it starts looking like shiny plastic illustrations rather than photography and while i can imagine that there's people proud of their photoshopping or looking like a glossy glam model, i doubt anyone actually thinks "gosh that shiny, smudge / blurred look is so hot on a girl".

it makes the pictures look like slick advertisement photography meant to distract and sell a product rather than photography for the sake of creating a photograph. (i hope that made any sense)
