Rules?

Go through the FAQ's under the Help tab (top right corner) and read the Terms of Service. asking this now is a really good idea, and puts you way ahead of the game

I personally hate it when people request my friendship when they haven't said a word to me. I think a lot of people here feel the same way, as this is not MySpace.

Posting the same thread in multiple forums is a quick way to piss people off.

Actually, if I were you, I wouldn't create a new thread until you have several months in the community under your belt - just to become familiar... but that's just me.

All the other "unwritten rules" can usually be summed up this way... Don't be a douche and you'll be fine.

Lurk for a little while until you get a handle on what the community is like. So many people jump right into it with all kinds of preconceived notions of what SG members are like and it bites them in the ass. Not everyone here is looking for a Milwaukee threesome.

There's a LOT of sarcasm here, which can probably make the place look a little less friendly than it actually is until you're used to it.

Some rules I live by:

1. Always double down with 11 up and dealer showing 6 or less
2. Do not pass go, do not collect $200
3. Double sixes, roll again

Use the search function before starting a new thread.

I'd say that by even starting this thread that you've made a better impression then most people new to community are ever able to make. My best advice is make sure you can laugh at things said at your expense, especially if you plan on going anywhere near the Silliness board. And this site can eat your life. There are too many people who have like 20,000 or more posts.
