I guess I understand that, just trying to say explain why the old-timers do things in a way other than "they're just assholes". Well, we are assholes, but still.

And I agree that search function is one of the least functional aspects of the site.

Oh no no one was rude to me, I dont do clubs really. But anyone who knows Vegas knows a new club opens about every three seconds and the fad on which is cool changes even quicker.

Plus its just kinda fun to bullshit about Vegas on the Vegas group. I mean what else is it for really?

The group is fine if a bit slow and the person who freaked out on the poor girl quit the group anyway. Most people on there are reasonable and dont mind im sure.

I think the vast majority of people on the SG site dont mind at all, most people are very friendly and helpful.

Its just the vocal few who think their lil cabal is sacred and everyone must agree with them.

And the tomatoes are ripe.

More evidence to support the theory that "The Princess Bride" is the most quoted movie on the net. wink

Erm,

I think the irony referred to in the original post is that people repeat the same posts about not repeating threads in repeated threads thus making them as repetitively dull as the very people they're supposed to be chastising.

The irony inherent here is that obviously no one in the discussion of irony actually knew what it meant *including* the person who originally used it, correctly I might add, to such a degree that they even retracted their description of the situation as ironic even when it was.

This is one ironic thread. tongue

why do girls like assholes and not nice guys like me? frown

actually, i kind of agree that the search function really isn't that...um...helpful sometimes. what aggravates me, and i think a lot of the people here, is when there's the same thread about something about 3 threads down. in plain view. you don't even have to scroll down on the main page.

or when someone has been a member for about 6 months, has over 1,000 comments, and yet still asks something that's readily available in the FAQ section or that could be answered by a friend or group. i can understand someone that's really new to the site blindly wandering here for answers, and that's fine (and pretty cute smile ). i think the other is just laziness, and some people should really know better.

*edited for grammar. i suck.

Be nice to the no0bs.

This is a place for us all to have a good time so we'll keep spending money here and the nazi who owns the site can spread his hate for certain religions, keep the non-silly boards less silly (sinking ship), give us more spread teh leg on alternate Tuesdays, keep the grammar police brutality to a minimum, and OMGZ the 105 is mean to meeeeeeee!

What?! The above paragraph makes little or no sense to you?! USE THE SEARCH FUNK-T-I-O-Nittttt11111oneeleven!!!! It's all explained in the topic clearly marked "Suicidegirls named LaFawnduh".

Doy.

You can tell someone about the search function without being rude about it. But I think some people get the idea that it will make them seem "cool" if their comment is snarky. It's like a cycle. Like highschool. The freshman come in and are tortured, then their first day of 10th grade they are torturing the new freshman.

Some people will always be like that. They will always need to lord their seniority over people. So as silly as I think it is for people to be dicks to noobs for no good reason(sometimes there IS a good reason), I know that my own behavior is all I can change, and that some people were just born to be assholes.

But, in the defence of some of us who have been here a while...Some noobs suck ass. I don't spend much time on the boards anymore, but I catch glimpses here and there of some new person who I would undoubtedly dislike in real-life. And sometimes someone needs to say something to them to get them to chill the fuck out, or shut the fuck up. Also, I know that a lot of the people who have been here the longest have a different outlook on the site in general. They've watched it grow and change, and they've made a lot of friends here. They know how shit works, and with every influx of new members, it gets more and more frustrating and harder to kindly let the new members know what is and isn't OK.

I think it depends. When it's a thread that has been done ten million times, and anyone who thought about it for more than 5 seconds would realise that it has probably come up before, then I'm going to break out the snarkiness. It's not like this is a thing that only exists at suicide girls. It's just basic message board manners to search before your start a new thread. If there is only one thread for 3 years ago with 2 posts in it, fine, start a new one.

What really burns my ass is when people SAY IN THEIR POST that they know the topic has come up many times, but they just wanted to bring it up again.
Every time someone bumps an old thread instead of starting a new one and angel gets a blowjob.

I agree...I personally dont care if someone posts a thread thats been discussed several times...UNLESS they cant even go a page back and see another thread with the exact same topic...Like when Olivia left, and someone had to post a thread every other day asking "Wheres Olivia!!111??!1" oh and the threads about "How SG has started to suck"...yeah those are annoying too when its posted at least once a month! tongue

I only find it obnoxious when they ask about the site. Because they'll get the same answer every time.
I do not mind "look at all the hot titties!" because those threads generally lead to people posting pictures of hot titties, and no one doesn't like that.
