What themes would make cool sets?

Beach Girl VS The Monster (Modeled after the 1965 film)
Reproducing a vintage magazine cover (like Wink, Titter or Flirt)
"How Novel" Vintage Typewriter, Shaggy Carpet...you get the idea
Red Light Special...Cliche Stripper but it would be h-o-t-t-

What themes would you guys like to see?

I think there is still room for creativity within these themes smile

Very few themes can be done once and never done again with a slightly different spin.

If anyone is near Newcastle, U.K., there's that missle launcher van advertising Lings cars on the motorway, good for a cold war style propaganda set.

The Angel of the North would fit into that nicely too, or a more general Industry/Metal theme, especially if shot at sunrise/sunset.

I always liked the idea of a bank robber set with bags of money.

My vision was more like.. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Abandoned steel mills and run-down factories are the closest thing to what's in my head. The color of rust and cold stone.. Kind of like Mad Max.

I have an excellent idea.

If you're going to shoot a set for SG, how about you shoot something that reflects some awesome aspect of your personality, instead of just doing a role-playing dress-up thing? Who are you? That's way more interesting to me than cute costumes or setups.

I believe there are a few who have sets that demonstrate who they are in one way or other. Who can tell but the creator of the image? I'm sure some relive moments past in their sets. It would be nice to see more.

When I was a member of the SG Hopefuls group (and no, I was never a Hopeful), I saw set after set of girls who were obviously trying to fill some idea of "sexy." They came off like they were playing dress-up and trying too hard to fit into some ideal of sexy they'd gotten from somewhere.

You could tell.

Expression often seems corrupted by competition. I bet if hopefuls were to express their personality like you said, there'd be alot more SGs.

Which brings me to a question that I'm sure is around here somewhere; Who chooses the set for the most part, the photographer or the model?

For my two sets...the first was just based on the hotel room that my photgrapher and I stayed in. The second was an idea that I had. I have more input into the choices of my set, though my photographer helps me develop the idea and make certain choices.

I for one love playing dress-up and becoming different characters in photos. I think that's part of who I am! I guess it only sucks when you're not really into it and that comes across but I think you can be sexy and yourself and still put on a character. Why else would we all watch movies, etc. if we didn't like seeing people put on characters? wink

Dude, I know I stated it in another thread somewhere, but I totally call the Flava Flav tribute set.
Complete with viking hat, giant clock around the neck, and grill.

I think there are lots of ways to have a cohesive "theme" in a set and still be able to reflect your personality in it.
