SG for a birthday present?

It's my friend's birthday and she's very special to me. I want to get her something unique and cool... and thought maybe a pre-paid gift subscription to SG would be cool...

but I'm a little wary of the idea and am looking for some opinion/confirmation --

All SG-bias aside, if you never had one and someone bought you a subscription to SG for a few months or a year or something --- whatever --

and someone bought you a pre-paid subscription to SG... would you think it is a cool gift?

Someone gave me the one I have as a gag gift because I am conservative. I still used it.

Actually a young friend of mine has been all but begging for a subscription for her birthday...

It's not something to just randomly give... if you have any doubts about their appreaction of the gift, don't give it.

Mine was a Christmas gift... despite my not being Christian and having never celebrated Christmas.

I think its a really good idea, but i'm a kooky, weird, flipped out artist type...

Do they like the Internet? Do they like cute, naked women? Do they have lots of spare time to kill? If you answered yes to these three questions, SG might just be the gift for them!

Yeah, then the giver'd have to pick one, and if the recipient wanted to exchange her ("Did you keep the receipt?"), the whole thing could get messy and stupid. Better this way.

I want a SG for my birthday.

I've considered giving my brother an SG account, but he doesn't really use a computer much. Like Liante said, it depends quite a bit on the person giving the gift. If she's a good friend, I'd probably start with a three month account and tell her you thought she might like checking it out. If she raves about it, then bump it up to a year.

Certainly there is a bit to think about -- maybe I should ask her if she'd think it was cool? She certainly does appreciate cute girls n such. And it would save me actually going to some cruddy store and trying to pick out something.
