I was looking around the SG shop, and noticed that although the men's shirts come in anything from a small to a XXL, women's clothing only comes in a medium.

I'm not a ball of lard, but I'm not a medium either. Is there a reason for this strange occurence, or is it size-ism?

Maybe they sold out?

I believe they're going to be making some custom shirts for the PSW's though. Check out the group for the details.

XXXL+ sizes cost extra and don't sell as well as XXL and below. Not all companies make XXXL+ (I don't think American Apparel does) thus matching color, cut and fabric quality with other stock becomes difficult. I know some stores end up going with Gildan for their XXXL+ stuff, but Gildan's shirts are ratty (and sweat-shop produced) compared to American Apparel's.

Eh, the small size isn't small enough for me. I couldn't get a tight shirt from the SG Store if I gained 20 pounds.

I was up to 4X for a while with some 5X ones for my baggy raver clothes.

the girl's medium is considered "one size fits all" by american apparel. if anyone has had trouble fitting the one size, please let us know.

I'm too small to fit into a medium sized shirt. I'm sure there are many other girl members on this site that are on one side or the other of a medium too. More sizes the masses yell!

Yeah..."one size fits all" is pretty crap, if you ask me, even if coming from American Apparel. A regular range of s/m/l/xl would be fantastic.

i'll third (or fourth) that sentiment. i'm a medium in most brands but american apparel runs small so i get size large from there.

and just because we're not tiny girls, we can't really resort to the men's shirts and get smalls. its a very different cut.

I worked for American Apparel for the past year . . .THEIR CLOTHES RUN 1-2 Sizes small. It's ridiculous really (could it be because they are an LA based company?)

I am a size 6 pants and Small or medium in most tops.

American Apparel is the only brand where I had to wear an XL boybeater and L fine jersey shirt.

If you are a woman and bigger than a size 8 or 10 . . .even the AA XL is probably too small.

the OS size fits women sizes 2-6.

This was discussed awhile back.. don't have the time to find the thread... staff offered at one point to pre order diff sizes if enough people were interested... I suggest searching for it... then contacting them to see if the offer still stands.

The PSW group is picking out some garment/size combos for me to make sg swag for, but if enough of you want a small or large or xl in any of the ladies items, post here and if there is a lot of interest i'll make them. Post the Item and size you'd buy.
