Why wasn't my Group request approved?

No, I don't. That is what the Hopefuls groups are for. The Network group is a different animal all together. My attachment should help. My proposition was this PLUS non staff, so that ALL photographers & models (not just hopefuls, not just SGs, not just staff, not just non-staff photographers... ALL of them) could network to work together. There is no group for this purpose that aren't exclusive to only official SG & staff.

The fact that the Network group exist is proof that it is valid & worthwhile. The flaw is in that it is exclusive. The exact same idea could be applied to a group for all photogs & models & make just as much sense.

Although isolated by distance and borders, i, for one, would appreciate a group like that as well. just my 2 cents.

I agree that there are already plenty of groups that meet your criteria.

What, exactly, do you want? Give some examples? I can't think of why a member who is not an SG or a Hopeful would need this group - like to find a wedding photographer or something?

The only scenario I can think of is wannabe photogs that want to take pictures of naked women and that just sounds creeptastic.

I'll just reply to this & we'll call it quits. I feel like I'm being baited into an argument & I want nothing further from. Right, it will never work. I am no longer pursuing this group, though, I haven't got a response about it yet. You made one good point, which I will point out.

-Right. Staff Photogs don't need a group. They are busy enough. So, I agree, that may be an honest reason against said group in just that one aspect. (I'll say you are right about this one completely)

-Suicides Girls don't need to shoot with random members. We'll, I joined about the same time as two current staff photographers now. We were all in the PH group together at the time. I remember them selling their first sets. Now they are staff. I'm still friends with them today. I also do not consider myself "random"... I have shot sets since 09. I also have 4 SGs lined up to shoot right now, a few hopefuls & more of both over the summer. That means I have earned their respect enough with my work, professionalism and demeanor to shoot with them.

-Correct... Hopefuls do, more so than SGs. It's not the slightest bit dodgy, however. I am very active on the site. I have a good relationship with the girls I shoot.

I'm going to go ahead and agree. We don't need another group. I was just trying to look out for people, for instance, like my man cudnovati a few comments up. He works his ass off to shoot very good sets. He will have his second set of the day with the lovely Bruise go up soon. It's already purchased & this will be the second girl he made pink. Had you checked our profiles, you would see we are not weirdos but hard working photographers on the site. I could rattle off another half dozen non-photographers who sell sets. Every staff photog on the site, at some point, wasn't. As far as wannabe photographers, I've been in print, websites & my gear takes up a room of the house & cost more than a new car.

As far as naked girls... I'm a nudebar DJ. I have been since 96/97. I'm not hung up on seeing a naked girl, lol... That's my day to day.

I'm sure you and cudnovati are both stand-up chaps but you're talking about a public group. Who will suss out the rest of members?

Any word on the Model/Amateur Rocketry group I submitted a few weeks back? I haven't seen any response one way or another.
