I've been wondering this for a while, but I don't see the information posted anywhere, so maybe someone could help me.

I was just curious; when was Suicdiegirls officially launched? And, there is a member who has the longest-standing membership to Suicide Girls?

Every time I see the "Old Skool" tag, I wonder just how long some people have been here for...and for the life of me, I can't remember when exactly I signed up (although I have a rough idea)..

I know it doesn't matter in the slightest...I was just curious. So anyone who could help, that would be awesome. And if this is a "no-no" question, then I offer my sincerest apologies. Hope I don't kill any cats with this one...

i wasn't here for it, but various back-press state that it was launched on September 14, 2001.

ed: of course, Sean will point out that we shouldn't necessarily believe anything we read about the site... tongue

the first signup was on september 14th 2001, which is considered to be the launch date. the timing had nothing to do with 9/11, that's just how it worked out.

I know my friend Johnny was one of the first members but he's gone grey now. I remember feeling a bit wierd checking out my photos and the site when it launched because it was so few days after 9/11. I think that was the first thing I did that didn't have to do with being glued to the tv. .

As far as the oldest member, wasn't PrintGod like, member #12 or something?

I find it odd that anyone would find a correlation between the two...

i imagine freckle was thinking more along the lines of anais .. pointing out that it seemed really odd to be looking at sg only four days after 9/11, when most people were still in shock and glued to 24 hour news.

there was a rumor that the site intended to launch on 9/11 but postponed it by a few days because of the terrorism attacks. s5's post refutes this rumor.
