'I loved it / Not for me' buttons for blogs.
I like this idea.
Why would someone want to click NFT on someone's blog? If you don't like it, then don't read it or don't leave them a comment. Maybe I'm missing the point here, but isn't our journal suppose to be a separate space for us to write what we feel like? It just seems like it would make posting a journal more of a popularity contest than anything else.
I was more thinking along the lines of "not for me/dislike" if for example somebody blogged about their cat dying. I don't think a feature like that would have any influence on someone's popularity.
I didn't mean popularity as in people being popular, but more so what would become "popular" to write about.
Why would you want to click NFM if someone's cat is dying or whatever else? Isn't that a bit harsh?
I could be wrong, but I think what Clio is getting at is more of a feature similar to the like feature on facebook? Maybe?
I get where you're coming from with this, but do we really need more obvious Facebook type features here?
Leaving a '' or whatever appropriate emote, or actually taking the time to express something in a few words in a blog comment is a far nicer way to go.

I'd really like to see this at the bottom of a blog page:
That way i don't have to scroll all the way back up to advance to the next page. This would be for when you've clicked on the blog tab, i mean. It's annoying to scroll back up if i've decided to read a person's last several blog entries.

Just my two cents, but the more like Facebook and Twitter SG becomes, the less I like it.

I agree also, I do think people will take a not for me on a blog post to be insulting in one way or another.

Is there some reason why recent topic comments/responses cant begin on page one,and not the opposite order that we see them now.Curious is all.
Changing it after 9 years seems like a bad idea to me.
To be honest, every forum I read on an hourly basis works the same way SG does. The only instances where I see it the way you propose is when it is a comment on an article or video where the comments are necessarily related to each other but just a list of responses to the original source.
I would just like to say that I think it is horseshit that I pay for a membership but cannot join certain groups on the site because they require you to have a certain post count per day or require that you have a journal... I have an interest to read through posts and maybe post on subjects myself if I feel inclined to but its pretty lame that I am blocked out of groups... Whats the point of paying the membership, I feel ripped off.
I sent that to customer service and they told me to post it here... seriously, its horseshit.

So many, so many, so many people join the site every day. Some of them are insane drama llamia trolls, or creepy penis picture posters, and some of them are dangerous.
Private groups are private for a reason. Some groups relate to super personal things. Some groups are where people make plans, regularly, to meet up in the real world. Some groups are support groups for specific problems, and some groups have a great vibe, and just want to make sure some newbie doesn't come in and post their cock everywhere every second day.
Once you've posted for a while, a person who needs to evaluate whether you're suitable for membership in a private group has some information to inform their decision. Before you've got some comments, there's no way to tell the difference between you and some insane freakshow lunatic whose going to come to a local event and take off his pants, or show up at some girls house, or even just create a lot of generally unpleasant drama.
That's why some private groups ask you to have some comments, or a journal entry, or a picture.
Your paid membership gives you access to the site, and allows you to look at the sets, and the videos, and vote on the hopefuls. You can participate in a lot of the community. The community as a whole, though, isn't a service that SG administers and offers; although there's the occasional descent from on high, mostly we regulate ourself.
Which private groups are you irked over, particularly.
I get why we all play the 4 Dollars card (on account of it's hilarious, and usually excises people from the site that don't provide an improvement, and also it's hilarious), but as far as I remember the ability to join groups and talk to people in them is one of the things SGHQ promote on the tour and signup pages. Joining and then finding out you can't participate in such and such a group might be a little galling.
Also, now that I've typed that I can save it to my library for the next time this comes up.

That pretty much sums it up right there. Here is everything you get when you join... except most of what we are telling your right now. Sign up and find out your still not getting to experience a lot.... Real nice.
If you're worried about trolls and "newbies" posting their cock... (???) well isn't that why there are moderators for the groups? They could remove the problem pretty easily... still makes no sense to me.
Sense of privilege... right.. thats why I pay for a membership, because I feel entitled to the things that I thought I was paying for. The awesome community sure isn't so awesome or accepting of new people so thats another factor of SG that sucks.

I want a refund.
so you´ve been here for a year and just now you are demanding to be included? you get quite an eloquent reply from Elichrusos and still dont get it?
You want it all and you want it now?
well... tough luck.
The groups are just a part of SG (other entertaining parts of the site are the sets, the boards and the blogs) and just a few of those groups are private and have rules to join. And most of those rules are easy to follow. So i really don't know, where there is the problem.
What are these amazing groups, you want to join so badly? Are you sure, it is worth all the trouble? In my humble opinion, most of the private groups are very inactive and not entertaining.

Ive been a member for a year!! Doesn't that negate all arguments of me being a "newbie"?
It makes no sense, SG snobs.
WAAAAAAHH.
People don't want random fuckbags reading their private stuff. Want to read people's private stuff? Prove you're not a random fuckbag. We're not just going to take your word for it. Best way to prove you're not a random fuckbag: participate.
Groups have rules set for a reason. Also, just because you have lurked on this site for a year does not mean you automatically get to join private groups. Nor does whining about it. Stomp your feet and wah wah wah all you want, but everyone else on this site seems to agree that these rules are set for valid reasons.
Besides, there are tons of groups on this site that are not private.... what group rejection is getting your panties into such a bunch?
Don't know what a creeper is.. don't know what a lurker is... and don't really give a shit. You guys win, I'm over it. Done with groups and done with SG.
