I'm speaking for myself here, but if I take a set down I don't want it on the site anymore, including the boards. If people want to save pictures that's their business, but keep them on your harddrive.

Unfortunately, practically speaking, there's no way to delete all of your sets from sg once you've submitted them to member review. Here's a fairly lengthy explanation why.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

When someone first signs up to sg they're going to wanna include images in their posts and blogs. The most obvious way to do that to a new user who doesn't know board posting tags is to use the button below where they're typing that says "put a picture in this post!" AKA the attach feature. Doing that requires them saving the picture, then (possibly unknowingly to them) reuploading it into the attachments folder.

Once that's done, every picture they've shared in any of the appreciation groups, on the silliness board, in their blogs, in private messages sent among eachother, or anywhere else, those pictures are duplicated in a totally different image with a different file name. Knowing about them or tracking them down would be next to impossible.

Also, even if you do track them down and ask the person to remove the image, there's still this. You're going to have to convince the person to delete their entire attachments folder. That or ask them exactly where they've reposted pictures of you and ask a moderator to remove them.

I'm not a staff member so I'm just talking from a point of an observer and surely don't fully know what I'm talking about but it seems to be a basic way that the site is programmed to work and it's been like this since before an awful lot of the active SGs were old enough to be on here.

No matter what, if you've uploaded a decent set that anyone's going to care about and want to talk about (or a really terrible one that people are going to want to talk about, totally removing it is next to impossible.

You might think that it doesn't make any difference, but having been the owner of the ass appreciation group for the past few years I can say that it happens to pretty much everyone.

The only way to avoid it is to submit your sets to staff review.

Also, believe it or not, it helps to not spam your set. Spamming your set may not increase viewer count, but it let's people know that you want it spammed all over the site.

Oh, and while I picked your post to reply to, Asio, nothing in here is really directed specifically to you any more than anyone else, sg or hopeful, who submits a set to member review. biggrin

I think we all know that it's impossible to remove our pictures from SG and the rest of the internet when we take them down. Specifically asking people to post photos that they know are from removed sets seems a bit too much though. I don't blame the OP of this thread since I guess he had permission from the SG in question and he probably just didn't think about how other girls would feel about it.
