Im not saying you said hopefuls are suppose to do a bedroom set their first time, I'm saying your the one who linked me to the hopeful FAQ page where it says a good guideline for a hopefuls initial set IS a bedroom set.
They only discourage you to send b/w sets or sets with too elobarate themes, costumes and stuff and ask you to look at the example sets of which none is a bed set if I recall correctly.

Quote me where in the FAQ it says that.
oops, your right, it doesn't, I got a little confused switching between tabs with all the bedroom sets talk and thought it was a guideline in the FAQ for a moment. My apologies Thistle.

except that some of us aren't interested in the "business model" where older, iconic SGs are estranged in favor of newer 'wide-eyed teenagers" willing to submit free content and then endlessly politic for "votes".
some of us just remember when SG was punk rock and not American Idol.
sg began when i was in high school. my friends and i were completely enamored with the idea of a site celebrating "alternative" beauty. we were so excited that there was a site glorifying they type of woman that we wanted to be.
fast forward 8 years later and i finally join the site. remember when SG did their "dirty laundry" sets on facebook and myspace? i LOVED those and ultimately, that's what finally pushed me into joining. imagine my surprise when i find that those women are now the exception, not the norm.
no offense to little white girls, but i'm tired of seeing nothing but little white girls on the front page. and they all look like the girl next door! where's the "fuck you" attitude that used to be so prevalent?

No offence but I'm now going to say something offensive.

ha in high school my friends and i used to take the tour all the time because they were the only pictures we could see.
Seriously, don't get mad at the girls that are on the front page, if you're going to get mad at all, be mad at the people who put them on the front page. You can't blame any girl for trying to get on the front page...that's kind of the whole point in modelling on SG (at least for a lot of girls).

I DEF agree. we were supposed to "redefine beauty" and why cant that mean being cute vs sexual?
I cant be anybody other than myself when i do photosets, and to be put down and not accepted because im " too cute" just hurts. if were redefining beauty, then why not have beauty of all sorts.
?? jsayin.
also. i had no idea you were supposed to spam groups with your member review set in order to get it more well know to get on front page. i dont have lots of access to internet so this makes it next to impossible.

You definitely should NOT do that. That's a great way to not get your set accepted.

As an official OGSG, I've pretty much determined that there isn't a chance in Hell of me actually getting another set through MR. MR needs a 98-99% "I loved it", and I'm pretty sure I'm too weird, too tattooed, and/or too old for at least 2% of the members (pansies!).
But as some of the other girls have mentioned, I continue to get lota of mail from both male and female members who REALLY want to see models their own age, whom they can relate to, whom they don't feel creepy looking at.
I'm not done shooting whether or not I even get another set through MR- in fact, I've decided that giving up on that just means I have the freedom to go back to making weird sets and not trying to please the masses (never my strong suit anyhow), but I do find that I feel bad asking staff photographers to shoot me when they are pretty much giving their time away for free.
I would love to see a good answer to this issue, one that lets more diversity of all kinds back onto the site.
Absolutely, your set's are all wonderful. I really like seeing women in my age range on here. But you keep shooting sets and I'll keep looking at them and loving them.
They really do need a better review system for putting them on the front page though.

I have to agree with Cash. I love seeing new faces on the front page but this month alone 1/3 of the sets gone up are girls' debut sets. We were all new girls once (I too was 19 when I became a SuicideGirl) but I do think a lot of established SGs are getting overlooked with this influx of new faces that often aren't even interested in bringing much else to the community.
