way to kill the diversity of sets even more sg. its hard to be alternative when every single set you buy is exactly the same

Amen. Letting go of photographers like this and keeping ones who refuse to work with larger body types is something I am not suprised at all about.

For shame.

I agree

SG has a formula that works. I know everyone wants to get butthurt about "diversity" but the reality is the majority of people on this site like to see young, petite girls with big tits. It would make zero logical sense for them to buy sets that people don't want to see. I'm not saying anything personal against bigger girls, but that just isn't what the majority of people want to see on this site. There's plenty of sites dedicated to bigger girls, if you really want to see that specific niche or model for that niche, then why not just go there?

Like Sallen I too was under the impression that this site was created to embrace women of all shapes and sizes. It isn't about seeing a specific niche per say it's about diversity. I can't even recall the last time I saw a set from a curvaceous girl.

sets here are bought based on numbers and traffic. if sets aren't doing well in MR, why would a company invest money into them? if you owned a company and no one was buying a product would you keep restocking it?...or just invest your money into what sells out the fastest?

really? i was under the impression that some curvy girls do really well in MR. sure not everybody likes curvier bodies, and nobody is under the impression that this is going to become a BBW site, but clearly the majority likes some of these curvy girls sets.

shot by staff who's on the front page usually several times a week, no less.

i wouldn't consider that a "bigger girl", she just has big boobs.

Yeah. Its doing great... and oh look, she's still a hopeful... making your point moot.

not really. 99% of the sets bought on this site are from girls who are petite. even half the girls who are considered "big" or "curvy", in real life are rather tiny.

they're not huge. they're just curvy. most of that is just hip bones and boobs. my only point is there are two hopeful sets by girls that are only slightly larger than most, with sets doing well, and they still aren't bought. i only attempted to make said point because of the implication that curvier girls don't get bought because they aren't as popular.

Yea...NO.

Go look at sets in member review some time and sort them by most loved all time & most comments all time. 97% love 2200 comments not only not on the front page, but not even a Suicide Girl. There is one hopeful that is consistently on the front page of most loved all time and she is not an SG.

BUT, have the right photographer take you pics, and you can be on the front page with 95% love and barely 300 comments and an empty profile and no blogs.

Just because girls do well in MR doesn't automatically mean that staff will think they're right for the front page.

...isn't this getting off topic? This topic states STAFF PHOTOGRAPHERS, not SETS THAT STAFF SHOULD BUY.

I'm pretty close to locking this thread, do we really need this many places to discuss the same issue, particularly if it goes off onto infinitely more overtalked and unrelated arguments and complaints? Please try and keep it constructive.

I had intended this thread to be ONLY about the photographers that people wanted back.... Since two photographers were reinstated due to member feedback, I was hoping that this would be a place that we could try and get some of our other favorite photographers back... and nothing else. I really wish people would stick to the topic and not-

I'd like to add my voice of support for Lorelei. Over the years she has become a virtual icon here, and perhaps SG's best ambassador. Her photography has helped to define the standard of quality we hope to see at SG, and she has offered a substantial contribution of photo work. And she has worked her butt off for the site, even traveling and living out of her van for months at a time, driving cross country to shoot sets for SG.

All that should count for something...

And Lorelei is a Suicide Girl... and around here, that should count for something too. I remember a time when being a Suicide Girl carried a certain prestige. Now it appears SGs have become merely a marketable, and it seems disposable resource.

After all her work and involvement with SG... to be forced to "fall from grace" with ludicrous insulting insinuations is unconscionable.

you can have a lot of comments but if staff doesn't think you're hot it's not happening. what i meant was sets of girls that are actually right for the site are bought based on numbers.

I find it more funny every day that SG prides itself on being unique and diverse and welcoming all types of beauty... Because that's now really the way it works anymore...

This is not the thread to air all your complaints about SG in. This thread is about STAFF PHOTOGRAPHERS who were dropped from staff.

Could we please keep this on topic? Everyone else can feel free to start another thread to argue in about plus sized models or alternative beauty. It has nothing to do with the staff photographers who were shafted.

they were dropped. what more is there to say? people get fired every day from their jobs. ranting on the internet doesn't really get people rehired.

Ok let's try to get this topic back on track... I created this to try and get people to kind make a petition to try and get their favorite photographers reinstated.. Not to discuss politics, business decisions, ect. That's not what this topic is intended for.

REINSTATE SCOTTSMALLIN AND LORELEI!!

+1

I recently had the good fortune to work with Lorelei. She is completely professional, extremely sweet, and patient. Her work is beautiful and consistant.

I gladly sign my name to this petition smile

Neither of them were saying that. Pithy comments & inane emoticons don't really comprise much of a reply in, like, an adult conversation.
On topic:
As a member who often digs the photography & the visual concepts as much as the models, I really like Lorelei's and (particularly) Scott Smallin's aesthetics and, if it were my choice, I'd keep them for sure. But objectively, I can't really comprehend why Lorelei wouldn't be retained. She's had 15 sets on the front page in 2011. That fact speaks for itself. In my opinion, next to Alissa, her photography most completely embodies the Suicide Girls aesthetic. So I'd definitely support a hypothetical 'petition' to have her reinstated.
