I wouldn't mind if chat got a bit of an overhaul. Like, add more font options and colors so you could make it that much more unique to the users preferences. Is that possible?
Most of this web site is "home grown", but SG pays another company, called Userplane, to run the Chat section. So, if you post requests like this, it's possible that the SG staff will pass them along, but they have a lot less control over Chat than they do over the rest of the site.

This old thread was more about etiquette than anything, but still seems the best-suited to my query.
I've been playing around with chat. Finally managed to get my mike working (system problem, not the chat). The big remaining problem I have is that none of the page-opening buttons ("profile", "IM", and "help") do anything at all for me. I made a point of unblocking popups on SG, just in case. I tried both Chrome(/Chromium) and Firefox. I'm running an unusual system (Xubuntu).
I've asked for system-specific help on a system-specific group; however, what I really need to know for a hacked-up workaround, someone here ought to be able to help me with: can someone please provide me with the links that would open up for IM and Help if they were working? I assume the URL for IM is member-specific; but if someone could provide me with a sample member and a sample URL for IMing with them, that could be enough for me to figure the rest out. Finding a member's profile is obviously straightforward enough.

Thanks very much!
There's actually a dedicated thread that tackles this specific issue. It's right here.
