Ever post in a thread because you feel like you have something to add to the conversation? Only to later realize that the topic is going to live on forever and always get posted in and bumped and fill up your "Recent Activity" or "Your Topics"? Just a few of these threads and soon you'll never have anything left except SUPER EMBARRASING THINGS YOU DON'T REMEMBER DOING or Random slutty acts You've commited.. If you ever you wanted to show off your NEW TATTOOS ! ! !, you'll get to hear about everyone else who gets a tattoo on SG....forever. Or maybe you'll get to hear about anyone who meets a suicide girl even though that was asked 9 years ago when there were less than a couple dozen girls. or you'll get to read What a bunch of inactive old members have as a username.

Then again, maybe you didn't read those even when you posted in them. Just like everyone else, you posted in there to add yourself, not to read 2500+ posts about other peoples' names. All filled with dead links and antiquated quote stylings.

And lord help you if you post on the silliness board. I have to assume you gave up usability years ago.

So I'm not asking moderators to close overly long threads or the powers that be to make an "unfollow" button. That would be too proactive for likes of this post. I just wanted to know: what threads are your huge mistakes? Maybe this one?

An unfollow button would be pretty cool. I know I've made the decision to not post in some threads because I didn't want them cluttering up my active topics thingy. (THREADJACK YEAH!)

I am disappointed in this post.

Not because i don't wholeheartedly agree with Maxx, mostly because when you see "I've made a huge mistake" and "maxx" as the original poster, you're usually in for a very entertaining story.

This was not entertaining, but i do think it's a good idea.

I think everyone is missing the point of this thread.

Sleeping with that tranny was not a mistake. It was an accident. There's a difference.

I have to agree with Maxx. Actually, it happens more often than you might think.

The title is misleading, I thought it would be entertaining as well, sadly disappointed.

However you do bring up a very good point, an unfollow button or similar ability would be awesome.

I, too, think the "unfollow button" idea is a fab one.

I DON'T BRING UP A POINT!
this is an amusing thread where people link to threads they regret posting in. Stop being meta, y'all.

Pretty much anything in silliness. I never comment there anymore, but the inane chatter there is constantly pushing stuff I actually care about out of my "your topics" list. Remember when pages were mandatorily closed after 500 pages? That's a great idea I wouldn't mind seeing come back.

I agree. I know it would be difficult, but shouldn't there be a way to remove any topic you haven't posted in for a certain amount of time? Like, if you haven't posted in a topic in a month, it doesn't pop up in your topics list.

I always hate posting in CE because I'll see whatever thread I posted in weeks later and think "holy shit you guys are still arguing about this?!" AND THEN I'll read through the 9 pages that I missed since my last post and contribute to the exact thing I just finished being exasperated about.
