I actually kind of like that other people can easily repost my blogs to other social networking sites. While I understand why it's not for everyone, I would still like the option of having it on my own blog. I often post blogs that I think are useful or interesting (such as my e3 round up that's currently up) and if people want to easily repost that it'd be really cool if they could!
Unfortunately as with anything on the internet - those that dislike something are the most likely to write about it [have you ever read any of those hotel/restaurant review sites?]. Which is why this thread of 19 pages only has a couple of supporters - because those that like it or don't mind aren't likely to search out this thread to post.
So, just because the dissenters are the most vocal I hope there becomes an option to enable or disable this rather than it gets relegated to just interviews and photosets.
As one on the opposite side of this issue then you. I would like to say that I do agree with you. This should be something you can "opt into." I like the ability to control my experience on a site that I truly enjoy being a member of. Also, a site where I met my future wife. (not saying that creepily I honestly am engaged to her) These kinds of options do make it more personable and a great experience.

google says we have millions of unique visitors a month and if we had millions of members you would all be invited to come live on sg island and work the land with hot naked girls which means most of the people who visit sg are not members and we all have to live in our own boring countries.
Sign me up for the SG island with hot naked girls thang!

I have my facebook page set up to automatically download the RSS feed from my SG blog. Not strictly the same thing, but it does make it pretty easy for anybody who knows me to repost.

Tip:
Scan the thread for staff comments for pertinent info. They are in green.
Not to mention if you're going to post your opinion on something, it's always good to know what you are posting about, which you will only know if you've read the thread.
