I have a question about the copyright ownership of articles on SG. I have written several articles, including the Gentleman's Guide series. Do I have any rights where those articles are concerned?

I was thinking of expanding the G.G. series into (perhaps) a book, but I don't want to run into any potential legal troubles.

No, you are free to do as you wish after you have satisfied Sean completely for several days, agreed to be an organ donor i.e. spare parts, to the SGHQ staff, and repaint the office. tonguetonguetonguetongue

I hope every comment ever made in Silliness goes to court over copyright infringement. Someone must have copyrighted "moar", "lulz" and "inurs".

According to the FAQ...

13.8 Who owns the article after I submit it?

We do and you are granting us permission to edit, change, alter, reprint or do whatever we like with it in perpetuity throughout the known universe.

13.9 The Whole Universe? For all time?

Yes, even the sombrero galaxy or 5th century B.C. Athens.

... so you should probably double-check with staff before doing anything with 'em.

SG owns it.

Edit: Those particular columns, I mean but if you edited them/changed them, you could certainly put them into a book of your own. Good luck.
