Has SG considered doing a 3D photo shoot? It is relatively easy to do , and the anaglyph can be made in photoshop. I just got back on the site so if there has already been one apologies ...if not I think it would be a good idea.

An SG has done a 3d shoot, but not for SG.

cool ....it would be great if you decided to, I am taking a 3D cinema class and learning about the spacing to create good depth....you really just need one camera for still pics and to separate the shot by 2.5 inches. The rest is done in photoshop on the channels selection. Perhaps someone will get inspired to do a set.zoom image

The only problem with doing a set like that for sg is that barely anyone has old 3d glasses anymore. I would guess that 90% + of members would not be able to enjoy the set.

That would be pretty cool.

Though a ton of preparation. Buy 3d glasses for this upcoming set? Or wait until the set is out then sell the glasses, only to be shipped out days later (weeks if international?)

It would have to be staff accepted set in order for them to put the effort into finding bulk 3d glasses to sell.

Not impossible. Just a lot of effort for a $500 set.

But yeah, it is a lot of work for just $500...

If sets were shot with new tech and not old then maybe more would be able to enjoy.. That is, with all the new 3D TV's and blu-ray players coming out as we speak, more and more folks would have access to the new tech 3D goggles. But there may, probably be conflict issues concidering it's a computer screen most people are using as their monitors..

It does sound like a lot of effort but I love the idea, I'd totally be up for doing one!

the anaglyph (red /blue ) glasses are super super cheap on ebay. And yes I think with emerging 3D technology coming out, it must be done , or least investigated to be done. The computer monitor does not matter, I was able to see fine. Movies like Alce In Wonderland( there is the 3D theme ..! ) and AVATAR are done in polarized 3D , not the anaglyph red/ blue. Polarized is a different process , and creates less of a headache than the red/blue. I hope this happens... ! Any one interested look on the web and see how easy it is.

How large is large? SG has thousands of members.

If anything, and SG could submit a 3D set and announce in advance for people who want to find the glasses and do it.

Or only a couple pictures in the set could be 3D, thus letting everyone enjoy the set, regardless if they have the old style 3D glasses.

Instead of a set being 40 to 50 pics long, maybe a shorter set 25 pics. 25 regular and the other 25 the 3D version.

This would be awesome.

on ebay it is about $6.00 for a pack of 50 standard red/blue. I see your point , yes perhaps an advance notice is best, as well as afterward doing ongoing 3D sets as well as the standard set you have a girl do except less pics than the normal, or perhaps they become monthly centerfold pieces giving room for more elaborate ideas into the 3D realm as the depth factor is oen to many possibilitiesIt gives members
something to look forward to monthly , and you can even market your own SG anaglyph glasses like certain movies do when they are in theaters. There are many options I think.

But yeah those red/blue 3D glasses are cheap, I remember having them as a kid, they were given away with those books that had 3D images in them.
