New Fancy Pants Background..

I thought I had noticed something different with the background as it loaded !

I like.

I thought we were way overdue for a different background.

Its pitch black on my screen, which is an old early flat panel lcd tv screen. Black is timeless. I wouldn't mind a puce or orange background though.

I'm digging the stars!

today's pattern doesn't tile very well and all of them so far seem to be poorly anti-aliased, but all in all i could give a shit.

in other news, i can't believe that i am posting on the boards in 2010.

I really liked the old one (in fact if anyone knows where I can get a copy of it as a picture file, I'd appreciate it, I want to save it in my "interior design inspiration" folder), but I like that it keeps changing. And I have a big bright monitor so I appreciate the subtleness, otherwise it'd be distracting.

I think the star background that's up today is my favorite. Really didn't like the one with the handwriting and the flowers.

One note about the new background (which is fine in general) is that it makes the site appear almost unreadable on my blackberry.

You can read the site on your blackberry!? I can not.

I like all the new backgrounds...I like everything CourtneyRiot does. (I'm assuming they are her designs.)

Not a fan of the swirly wave thing today. It reminds me of tribal tattoos, and we all know how much we like to mock those here.

Yes. I can read the site. I cannot post on it though, as my BB is ooooooooooold. That said, the new background makes it read black text on mostly-black background. Not ideal.

Yeah, not feeling the one up today with weird squiggly line thing and handwritten style text. Way too complicated and distracting.

You probably already can, but how you would do it depends on what web browser you're using.

In Firefox 3:
- Right-click on the background.
- Click on View Background Image. That will take you to a page that has one tile of the background.
- Do File --> Save As.

In Internet Explorer 8:
- Right-click on the background.
- Click on Save Background As.

I don't know how to do it in other browsers, but I'd start by right-clicking on the background and seeing what choices come up.

I'm not a fan, but as long as the backgrounds don't distract me, I'm okay with them.
