Cuz there isn't enough actual horror in the word, let's make 12 girls think their friends are being kidnapped and murdered and film it. Yeah, sounds like fun. WTF!?
i'm pretty sure no one thought their friends had been murdered.
"While some people plan a horror movie by writing a
script or auditioning actors, we at SuicideGirls thought it
might be more fun to make 12 of our models believe their
friends had been killed and they might be next. I hope you
enjoy this movie more than they did."
okay, well i was there and all, but it's cool, whatever.
You were also there for that particularly nasty thread that happened in the SG group after you all got back. You can't really blame me for not being sure how far this actually got taken or being initially outraged by the whole concept. Some of us thought you girls were really hurt and "traumatized" as some blogged it. No one ever said otherwise and you were all pretty adamant on making us believe it to be true even when there was initial skepticism. Also, I don't know if you remember or not, but I had gone so far then as to email you personally to get clarification because I was genuinely worried and confused about what to think on many levels.
For those reasons I've been particularly offended by your attitude to my comment.
I wouldn't have reacted to the description of the movie so negatively as an isolated thing.
i never said i wasn't traumatized or that nothing bad happened. i just didn't think my friends had been actually ax murdered is all. i'm sorry that you're offended.
I'm really confused.
Did the girls there know what was going on or not? Is this a scripted thing that's being advertised as unscripted (a la Blair Witch) or were the girls actually unaware that it was a joke and were genuinely scared? Or are we not really supposed to know if it was real or not?
If Rigel says the girls never thought their friends were dead, then I believe her. But that is how the movie is being marketed. So I just... am really unsure of what exactly this movie is supposed to be.
Good move for SG. Diversify the brand into the movie biz. The movie doesn't look like a blockbuster based on the trailer. Nevertheless, you have to start somewhere.

Yeah, it's interesting to see this come out so long after that. I couldn't help but only think of that camping thread when I saw the trailer (went back and lovingly perused it too).
I'm interested to see the film. I hope everyone involved is excited and gets to see it.
i think the idea that these girls really thought they were in danger, and/or that their friends had been killed, is a bit silly. they were filming a movie--it's not like they were actually stranded alone way out in the woods. they were surrounded by cast and crew, all of whom continued doing the work of filming rather than, you know, running away screaming. if anybody really thought their friends had been killed, everyone would have left and called the police and there wouldn't be a movie.

+1
I'm pretty sure the girls would have used some common sense if it was a life/death situation
If this was Shakespeare, it would be "dis'ppear" and everyone would think it was cool.
This comment did not get the recognition it deserves.
Well done, sir.
Thanks. I'll be heralded centuries from now as a high-brow writer, but then there'll be the whole "He was really just a populist crowd-pleaser in his day!" reassessment.
According to Amazon, the "Suicide Girls Must Die!" DVD is going to be released on June 29th. Looks like there are going to be both R rated and unrated versions.
Did anyone here make it to a theatrical showing last month?

Anyone know if it's going to be sold in the SG store? Is any one really going to buy the R rated version?
Lighten up you guys, it's just a movie. I am a fan of the horror genre and I like this site.
So sounds like it could be a good fun idea. Just don't pass judgment on the film until we have had a chance to see it!
The point is, it apparently wasn't just a movie. If they really tricked these girls into thinking that others were getting killed or whatever, then it's something different.
