So I'm not able to put a profile picture up. I go through all the steps and its still not there uhhmm I don't. know what's wrong with me geese I can't even send a journal entry from my phone. .or anything else for that matter. .what's wrong please help

Are you using your phone to try to upload the profile picture? If yes, can you try it from a regular PC? That'd be worth a try.

Well I don't have a working computer as of now so all I really have is my phone. I have successfully put pictures on "attachments" & "mobile uploads" but still nothing has appeared for my profile: ( And also no journal entry

sometimes you can just click on edit without doing anything else and the pictures will resize themselves to fit...but it does not work every time for some reason.

If you upload the same image from your PC again, using the Attach / Browse thingy, straight into your blog, instead of copying it from the album it's in, that should make it automatically fit I believe.

I experience this too for ages and I s'pose it's probably a bug which the tech staff surely know about and have queued up to get to when they can (obviously just speculating there.)

What I'll do for a workaround is to write up my blog, then after I'm all done I'll post it and click edit and ctrl+a and copy it to my clipboard and then paste it into a new comment on the blog. Then I click the edit on the comment and it'll resize the images there. Then click edit again and copy the comment code to my clipboard and edit the blog and paste it there. Then you can delete the comment and the blog will be as expected.

I could be wrong here, but I think that the image sizes for comments are slightly smaller than they are for blogs so it wouldn't work as well as using the attach feature. But for those instances where you do want the images to be in a location other than your attachments folder, that's what I do. It's more steps but it gets the job done.

As long as you know the original image's dimensions in pixels you can edit the opening tag for the image to include those dimensions, like this:
[IMG|1200x706]
That's worked for me to trigger the re-size function when it won't work on it's own.

if you look you can see its whats missing from the links, and sometimes it happens for people linking to set pictures on the boards...rarer these days but still seems to happen occasionally

^^^ SGs can't change their own profile picture, staff has to do it for them.

Rourke -- Members whose membership has expired used to have their names display in gray -- people used to say that they'd "gone gray" -- but now their names are in purple like anyone else's. Archived SGs' names are still gray though.

_beans_ -- Does their profile picture look like a red haired angel with a bar covering her eyes? If yes, that means that they've set their profile to Anonymous. So, you can't go to their user page, and they can't post on the site (except to click I Loved It or Not For Me). If they're still a member, they can set their profile back to Public whenever they want.

Indeed! If someone's account expires, their profile will stay the way it is, either Anonymous or Public.

Anonymous members can access the site content, except for groups. They can't see into any groups, even public ones, or ones that they're a member of.
