FYI, deleting an image from your attachments folder will not remove the image from wherever you posted it, it will only remove it from that album. If you want to completely remove it, you will need to remove the IMG markup from wherever you posted it. If you cannot delete/edit your post, you'll need to make a help request (be sure to include links to all posts that need editing).
I'm confused about this. If you remove the image out of the album is there another place that it's hosted? Will it still be on a suicidegirls cache server or something?
I thought that once you delete an image from one of your folders it's no longer on the internet and your posts will come up with an image 404 icon.
For example, Issue_ recently deleted her attachments folder, thereby making like 14% of posts on suicidegirls no longer work. Case in point. That thread is now filled with empty cereal bowls of nothing where it was once totally filled with unheard of levels of awesome posts.
Am I correct in assuming that what you're saying is that if you delete the folder none of the posts will have images in them where if you delete just the images will they still show up in posts but not the folder on your profile? That'd be kindo handy to know.

My post was specifically in regards to and is only applicable to the Attachments album. When you attach an image to a post, a special copy is made so that if you later delete the image from the album it doesn't cause a broken image in the post. You can delete the image from the album, and it will be gone from that album forever and anything you manually linked (using IMG markup) to that album image will come up as broken. BUT the image in the original post that you attached to will still show up (as well as replies).
EDIT: Sorry, I misread your last paragraph. Yes, you are correct -- deleting a single image will not remove the image in the post but deleting the entire Attachments folder *will* remove all attachments from all posts, causing broken images. However, being able to remove images from posts by deleting the album was not really by design and may change without notice (since it makes threads pretty ugly).

Is there any markup that we can put into a post to be able to reuse that image if we ever change our minds and wish we had not deleted he image? Or do we just go to the original post where the image still shows up and copy the image URL and start using that address?
Sorry, I just hadn't yet known about any image redundancy.

Yes, deleting your attachments album deletes the "special" images. But, as I mentioned before, this may be changed at some point.
Yes, you can go to the original post and grab the URL of the "special" image and put it into IMG markup. Or, if you have the URL to the album image, you should be able to just replace ".jpg" with "_attach.jpg". Note that these are generally shrunk down to be "thread friendly".

I can't upload pictures from my iPhone to my SG profile. The area where it says image or zipfile won't let me choose file, it's faded and won't let me do nothing. So is this a iPhone problem or just my phone. Can I email pics to upload on profile?

Hi Guys,
i'm having a problem with changing my profile pic!
I went to Profile tab, then clicked on edit... and then tried to upload it in the Primary Photo box...
I tried for the last hour but with no luck!
That is the picture I want to upload as my profile photo.

I don't know what your old profile picture was like, Lauretta, but for you, ombra, I'm showing a new one than the blue one you had a day er three ago. Try clearing your browser's cache.

I cannot seem to upload a profile pic. I can upload pics to my albums but not my profile. I read all the specs listed on the faqs. 235x175 100kb or less, jpg or gif but it just wont work. What am I missing?
Running Windows 7 Starter. Sorry for asking a horribly over asked question in this thread.

I keep trying to post a 124kB jpg image and it just appears as if i try to upload it as a comment or if i try to add it to an album it says there isn't a valid picture. I also can't get it to send from my camera phone to my camera phone pics folder. i don't understand.

neither can I and it's driving me mad. I feel like I've read every post, which makes me believe it can not be done.
