When I use the Image insert thing to include an image in a post, it's automatically resized to fit, and it can be viewed at full size by hovering over the lower left and clicking on the magnifying glass. I know some people have issues getting this to work, but I'm not sure why.
If you look at the markup, the resized images have the dimensions of the image as part of the image tag, and I know you can fix a not-resized image by adding those manually, if you first figure out the size of the image. For example, by changing [IMG] to [IMG|1200x800], for an image that's 1200 by 800 pixels.

Or, right after you save your post, click the EDIT button, and save the post again. This always works for me.
