SG "Make an Announcement!" feature question

I was on SG until about 4 years ago, but just rejoined a couple weeks ago. I don't remember the "Make an Announcement" feature in my Msg page from before, and can't find anything in the FAQs, or a board search, about it. So, maybe someone here could help? What exactly does this feature do? Does it make an announcement to all of SG, or just to your friends, or what? I've been a bit apprehensive to try using it, not knowing who all it would go to.

It's like a private message to all your friends. They can only see it in their feeds and they can only see it if they have that box checked for announcements to show up in their feeds.

Do you remember friends threads? It's essentially the same thing.

Is there a way to edit the announcements?

I know I used to be able to go to "friends threads" and do it there, but now that link just takes me to the regular "my sg" page.

If you remember how to get to "friends threads", it's still the same thing. You can edit it from there.

EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like they changed it recently.

So accessing the page has been fixed...?
