MR is horrid. It has haulted alot of new photographers getting hired on, and leaves models to not really get paid but still have to show it all UNTILL members "review it" into submission.

Most everyone has already put it better than I could....but I agree that overall...it has led to a homogenized version of SG. It's now mostly about pretty faces & cookie shots.....with the occasional really great set getting in.

What the site lacked in photography back in the old days...it made up for with originality & grit. Now...the photography in the accepted sets is amazing.....but too many of the sets are just not that interesting beyond the fact that there's a pretty naked girl in them.

While I think it would be rude to post examples of pictures I thought represented the current trend.....I have no problem saying we need MORE of the following:

Exactly my thoughts lately. Who the fuck cares if the photography isn't perfect? I want to see original and hardcore girls again. I haven't been on the site since the early days, but the girls from the early days are what made me want to join. I joined for Nixon, Marie, Jetta, Voltaire, Katie, Hel, Al, etc. Not for this cookie cutter every, girl looking like a picture perfect playboy model bullshit. I'm going to quote Amina and say "Harden the fuck up!"

^^^ I know a lot of people who love that set, and we could use more sets that show that kind of creativity, fun and attention to detail.

it's all pretty much been said, but the site seems to have lost a definite edge that it had. It went from being distinctly NOT Playboy pictorial to a sort of altflavor of said. I'm a bit conflicted because I LOVE to see the good quality of the images, but I don't know that it has to be at the expense of interesting set ideas. There are several photographers that do so well with the models and develop great ideas for sets, Cherry comes to mind immediately.

I miss the community the boards had back in the wild and heady days of Lesa comments count and the channel channel v thewad days. groups are cool for conversation, but the zany days of board hilarity seems behind us.

and I find it a bit saddening when I can click over to the "archived" thread and realize that I can go for pages and not even recognize the names of models being archived after a couple years on the site....much less all the new ones coming in.

when I met up with Voltaire and Alice at a random get together in LA there was no mistaking who they were....I feel like I could be walking down the street past any number of members and/or models and not realize it...or even really care.

damn. are we really going on nine years of sg? damn near a freekin decade?

I remember when I joined the site in January 2004. I joined on a whim at 11 pm, and didn't leave the screen until 11 am the next day when I passed out on my air mattress and dreamed of boobies. The site to me was addicting... Who were these amazingly beautiful tough women? And guess what, they would actually talk to you! They were real women, doing creative sets, telling the world what they were doing with their lives. And it was amazing. I became quite active in the community and made many friends...Unfortunately I lived in a town with ZERO other members, so I lived in chat and on the boards. I loved it...

I recently rejoined and was so confused... what had happened? I'd been away for 4 1/2 years, and it was completely different. It seemed like any pretty chick with a good photographer could roll around in bed and become a Suicide Girl. That was never what the name was about to me.

Reading all these posts from old members just makes me miss being 19 and chatting until 7 am with everyone, just enjoying people. Now I'm really just here for the couple of groups I enjoy, and that's about it.
