Sets definitely don't need blood to be "dark"

but, anways

Glitch has one

Temper has an odd kind of cyber set

I have a set about dying

Elaine has her zombie set

Scout has her recent fetishistic set

etc.

Salome's FOR SURE should have went up.

This is the 2nd year in a row disappointing Halloween sets have gone up.

I hope Salome's goes up, too, but I don't think the ones that did are disappointing...

Well, I do.
They're cool sets and I love MJ so Radeo's set was cool and Casper's set was creepy (it reminded me of The Strangers...but...in a park...), but for Halloween? No.
Especially compared to the sets mentioned by the people above me.

I am disappointed Salome ´s set did not went up as well. anyhow Radeos set was not disappointing for halloween at all. just because there is no blood and cut off legs, heads and penis like expected? I actually really enjoyed it the way it was.

Yep, Radeo' s set was perfect for halloween. I would like to have seen more creepy sets approaching halloween though. Nothing about the sets were dissapointing.

i think halloween for most people is rarely blood and gore and more about cheesy, fun, sexy parties and costumes. next year i'd like to see a set with cool costumes. blood and gore is way too easy and obvious in my opinion (and that is coming from someone who did a bloody vampire set for halloween once upon a time).

I thought Radeo's was really amazing! Meow and Sunshine had some blood over them smile
and yes, blood doesn't mean dark... mostly it means violence...
I didn't write my comment very good, I didn't mean to say those sets that went up were not good enough just that I wanted more... more dark sets in general in SG and for Halloween I was really expecting them

I disagree. Bailey's set Diner of Death was not "way too easy and obvious". It was not only a good concept, but brilliantly executed. I don't even like the Saw movies, but I thought Nixon's DNA set was great.

Perhaps it was not your cup of tea, but my set was not bloody for lack of imagination: It was a tribute set honoring some classic horror movies, and that does appeal to a certain, substantial demographic.

woah, don't be so defensive. you just named a couple of my favourite sets there.

i was addressing the original poster about blood in halloween sets, saying that using blood for halloween CAN be obvious and that there are many other things to be done. i never even mentioned your set and i definitely didn't say i didn't like gory sets. surreal

+1

I feel this way w/all major Holidays. If their are a number of great Halloween (Christmas, Valentine's Day, whatever) sets it would be nice to have a couple thrown up during that month, as well as the 2 on the actual holiday.

yeah... I liked the sets that went up on Halloween but I am indeed disappointed that's all there was. I was really hoping to see more dark themed sets this time.

i have to agree, the lack of creepy/bloody Halloween type sets during October definitely disappointed me this year. the ones that went up on Halloween were great but i was expecting something a lil more on the darker side for the actual day.

Maybe one of the good things about MR is such sets don't really have to be saved for holidays anymore.

but not everyone on the site sees MR. so a set going up on the front page is different than a set going up in MR. also, no-one gets paid for a MR set until it goes up on the front page.

i was disappointed in the lack of "true" halloween sets this year as well. as much as i liked the casper set, i didn't think it should have gone up as a "halloween set" - it's a front page set, but it could go up at any point during the year and do just as well. (radeo's set was awesome and captured the spirit of the season)...why can't sg do 2 days of halloween sets? it is our favorite holiday.

but that's just me.
