Silly Hopezillas, I made this for you shortly after.

Why does that face look eerily similar to a certain someone?

Somehow, I managed to miss this 100 pages of thread hilarity until now!

Part of me wants to read the whole thing, but I just don't have it in me.

Only do it if you're really, really in need of a laugh. And have a ton of time to kill.

I think both of those apply to now, I just am not motivated to read that much. Maybe I'll open it in a different window and just go a few pages at at time until I'm finished.

Funny story though, since I started posting in this thread, my number of friend requests has reduced drastically, it's been only the people I've been talking to on boards and groups, with the exception of a few guys who still want to show me their dick .. but not be my friend. Isn't that always how it works whatever

I read through the whole thing last night when I should have been studying. Epic win!

You know, in the words of Kyle, I learned something today.
I've randomely requested some SGs without ever talking to them before, but I've done this because I really liked their sets (live or MR), and I wanted to be immediately aware (in my SG feed) that they had a new set out, so I could go drool on their pics and such. I never saw it that way, I can see now how it can be confusing. As always, one rotten rots the bunch right? Anyways I later realized that all that info can be shown if I just fave these SGs, however, I DEFINITELY do NOT have the option to fave as many SGs as I'd like. Too... much.. hotness...

Though I usually send a quick little message with the invite, after reading this I'm pretty unsure whether that's a good thing whatever

Edit to add: oh, haha, I've just more thorougly read, and I now see that if I bookmark someone I can see their updates and all as well. Guess this will be my new friend button?

I am still mad at Myra for hogging the computer that day so I could only inadequately contribute to the epicness. I believe threads such as those only come once an SG lifetime.

T'was a fun day. I skipped classes to keep up with it. Yes, classES.

On topic though, there's an SG who keeps sending me friend requests every time I update my blog. Even after I told her that I don't accept from people I've never talked to.

I'm surprised that this thread goes all the way back to 2008. I've just started receiving these. In fact on here to post about it become I thought it was a fairly recent phenomenon. Yeah, it seems to be no different then the SG collectors that flood a SG with friend requests when her set goes up. I have to admit I was guilty of that once or twice when I first started on the site.

I don't message most of the SGs I like b/c I just figured they were always getting a ton of e-mails from random fellows (and everywhere else I've been on the net, a lot of women complain about that). I just wanted to go see when their sets/blogs/etc. were updated. I've joined a couple of twitter feeds for models from here for the same reason.

I always click on 'accept' for friend requests for most of my profiles, and although I haven't gotten a flood a hopefuls like others in this thread, I'd prolly accept them too. It spreads out the network of my own pics/blogs/etc., and who knows, maybe somebody will be randomly clicking around through a hopeful and find me, and dig what I have to say? I never saw friend requests as a burden at all.

There's no reason you couldn't send a message to a Suicidegirl whose set you happened to like. It doesn't mean you'll get a response...but there's no reason you shouldn't send a message based on what other members do. That's why the function is there. That's one of the things that makes SG cool. The social interaction of the site between members & models, at least in theory, promotes the idea that there's more to them than just tits on a monitor.

If it's a legitimate compliment...or a friendly, non-creepy note...I think you'd find most people receptive & friendly.

I think most models would prefer a public "I loved it" comment to a PM.

I think most women, period, would prefer that people comment publicly rather than send PMs. Making initial contact privately ups the creep factor A LOT, IMO.

i am not so sure that i agree with this. i personally am pretty self-conscious and think that public compliments are more embarrassing for me than a pm. a journal comment tells everyone who stumbles across it what you think about me and that weirds me out. but i am probably a rare exception to this rule.
