Can we embed them? Or is it strictly Youtube here?

That's a video that you uploaded though right? I'm talking about "linking" to other internet videos. Sorry, I'm not down with the lingo--I hope I'm making sense.

You're asking if we can embed something like Google Video rather than just Youtube videos.

No. the only thing you can embed is Youtube and SG Videos. All other videos like Google Video, Yahoo Video or anything else have to be linked with the "URL" Tab.

videos suck up a lot of bandwidth on both ends. There are certain threads here that probably take 15 minutes to load with a slower internet connection due to the embedded videos. I kind of see why they only allow embedding of youtube and SG videos.

And I'm sure you're right about practical decisions. I'm just one of those lame people who demand my needs are met for $4 a month (jokes). That and the internet stuff is magic to me. Embed this, embed that--I don't understand the difference and probably never will.

Why can i not upload my f*cking video ?

Ok, the video is smaller than 100mb (its about 14 to 40mb) and i try all those codecs and formats : mov, avi, avi-cinepac, avi-divx, wmv, mp4, mpeg2, mpg and flv.
And the video is still not uploaded. I have tried like 30 times, and nothing... i`t goes from 1% to .. 100%, and than god damn nothing!

So please if someone can help me, i`ll be grateful.

You should probably look through the bugs thread. Many video questions/problems have already been posted there.

If your problem hasn't, then that thread (rather than this one) would probably be the place to ask about this.

I would love to see something like Vimeo support, but I can see where you're coming from. Maybe for blogs only?
