What's funny is that if you knew her at all, you could guess the second sentence there just by reading the first.
Not sure what you mean, but I did not know her it all. I don't really have extravagant amounts of time to get to know people I don't have actual access to. I just think it's sad that when one person asks if anyone knows what happened with her (by the way, not me) his polite question is met with nothing but arrogance from a community I thought was about support and encouraging those viewed as outsiders. It's just that sometimes when I see how many of the outsiders act, I realize why they are outsiders in the first place: because they want to be.
Is this gonna be an "I knew Flux better than you" competition? Sad! I don't see any reason to belittle people that didn't know her well; they're allowed miss her presence on the site, too.

My point was that if you knew Flux (as many of us do) then you'd never, ever think that people being snarky to noobs was something that "led to her disillusionment and departure."
And to take the above a step further, even if you DID know her (as many of us do) then speculating on the reasons for her departure or blaming anything for it is really, really stupid and inappropriate. Unless you talked to her at length about it (and I have not, for the record), you really don't know. So why waste time saying "you jerks made her leave!"? It's silly.
All the other stuff... whatever, man. SG is what it is. Some people like it. Some don't. It doesn't have to be a movement or anything. If SG is "encouraging those viewed as outsiders" to you, then that's awesome. Good for you. It's just not the same for everyone, ya know?

I'm more sorry than I can express if it is, in fact, the case that you (or the poster to which you allude) fail to comprehend the vast multitude of reasons why a woman might opt no longer to pose nude on the intarwebz on a given site and stop doing so, and subsequently might not want people insisting upon following her to other intarwebz forums or other areas of her life to keep her tied to the identity y'all opted to see whilst viewing her nude on the intarwebz (in other words, subsequently might hope that SG members will realize that it's none the fuck of their business why she opts no longer to pose nude on the intarwebz/on SG). "Encouraging those viewed as outsiders" does not equate to being a-okay with the idea that the viewers of Flux's erstwhile SG-sponsored tits feel some entitlement to tracking her down elsewhere. I'm not saying that the poster to which you're referring honestly felt that entitlement; what I'm saying is that the reasons why his post may have come off the wrong way are not at all incomprehensible.
I'm also saying: please get the fuck off of your high horse, because what you're responding to has jack shit to do with anyone being "outsiders." It has to do with having basic respect for a human being's privacy. I don't think it's out of line for one person to inform another that said respect is important to keep in mind.

Shit, if she knew that a guy like you was going to have his day ruined over it, she would've found a way to do it twice.

Son, in your high and...oh what the fuck, he misspelled mightiness. My heart's not in it now.

Thanks for fucking up my day Flux, but I'll trust you did so with good reason. You are definitely one of the few girls whose sets I repeatedly looked forward to and whenever they appeared were so great they just never quite felt like enough. So, I guess now there never will be enough and I only hope that some new girl can come along and try to fill that void. SG has it's share of problems, but you were one of its shining lights. I'll miss you.
Aw, for fuck's sake. She was a model on a nudie site. Fuckin' get over it.
but they had a connection man... she just didn't know it yet.
It's interesting how when someone else had a similar comment near the beginning of this, everyone was very positive. If you feel like a site about news, politics, and empowerment is nothing but a 'nudie site,' then I feel kind of sorry for you. Flux wasn't just a model, she was also a very important contributor on the staff. I kind of feel like it's views like yours that may have led to her disillusionment and departure. I had no "connection" to her, I'm happily married. I did, however, respect her. I just get amazed by how much hate there is when everyone becomes anonymous.
Okay, here's the thing.
As far as I know, Flux isn't dead, or in jail, or in some physical therapy clinic regaining the use of her legs. She left a web "community" (the aforementioned "nudie site") and got on with her life.
What bothered me about your post was that it came off as something John Hinckley Jr. wrote to Jodie Foster right before he shot Reagan (the former president, not the SG, for all you kids born in 1990). It was creepy and kind of sad, which makes you fair game for people like me (i.e., assholes) to mock you.
Now here's the twist- ready?
Flux was ALSO someone who mocked the creepy and sad. In fact, I'm going to contact her and link her to this thread so we can have a good laugh at your expense.
And for the record, there's no "hate" on my part. Just reinforcing the message that it's just a website, people come and go, and you shouldn't take shit so seriously.

You're a nice lady and all, but just for the record: I don't feel entitled to anything at all, and the only way whatsisname misinterpreted my response to him is that he didn't realize I was making fun of him.

Oh, whatever. Don't even. You've felt entitled since, like . . . (*checks*) . . . August 2002.
