Oh, I'm totally buying you a beer the next time I see you.

Blah blah blah... I agree with Jason.

Blogs and the forums were how this site became a community and had a strong role in making this site successful and ensuring it's prominence as the 800 lbs. gorilla in whatever market niche you choose to call this (alt/soft/porn or whatever). For me (and Jason), it's more about human interaction. It's more than just tits. What makes Suicide Girls awesome is that you can't just objectify some naked girl. You have to deal with her real personality, her real life, her telling you you're a gross perverted schmuck after you requested she send you her dirty panties.

But as the site has grown, a lot of that up close and personal interaction is gone. The majority of the girls that set the standard and defined what it is to be a Suicide Girl have moved on with their lives and the next generation of hopefuls and wannabes seem to lack the drive and desire to show nothing more than T&A and that's a shame.

Go take a look at the girls in chronological order - the last 10 pages are the girls that made this site what it is. Those are the girls that hopefuls and applicants want to be. Those are the girls you let down everytime you blather on about 'votes' or your wishlist.

So if you want to be defiant and defend vapid and empty spaces that's your right. I'm just thankful that girls like roethke, cherry, siv, nicolelee, bailey and morgan (and others!) are still around because they are shining examples of what it is to be a Suicide Girl.

You said it absolutely perfectly!

I just had to remove somebody from my friends list because she wrote about 8 blog entries in a row begging for comments on her set. tiresome. surreal

yes thats really annoying! but i think its funny when the person tries to pretend that the blog is about something else (for the frist 2 sentences) lol

i found out for myselfe that if you write about new body mod you get lots of comments! and not only from people from your friendlist biggrin

While I think monthly prizes could be nice, I also think that adds to the ever increasing competitive nature of the site which I'm not so sure I would really support since it seems to be bringing out a lot of undesirable behaviors from both SGs and Hopefuls.

Ding, ding, ding... we have a winner!! This really is the crux of the matter...

That being said, I think we are also seeing an increasing sensitivity as a form of backlash towards that very behavior by the members on the site...which may be part of the reason this thread has reached 9 pages.

Personally, I have been accused of being obsessed with becoming an SG, and over-pimping myself on my blog as a hopeful by someone on my friends list... I responded to that person with a short comment on his blog saying that I was sorry that was all that he saw when he looked at me, because it was only a small part of who I am and I see that he has mentioned that incident in this thread.

The funny thing about that was that I had to look back 29 blogs (last one was February 27th) to find one that solely pertained to my wanting to shoot a set, or focused on my desire to be an SG. I did, however, have a two or three blogs in a row where I had posted pictures from another hopefuls set, and promoted her set in member review, not my own. I did it because I think that particular hopeful is amazing, and would be a wonderful addition to the community as an SG. It was right after those two blogs that I was dropped off of my friend's list with the note saying that my obsession with being an SG was why. surreal

Most of my blogs are about my family, my job, my health, my pets, what music I like, and my interests outside of SG...I use the space to vent thoughts and feelings in writing as it's theraputic to me. I also use the space to express what I like about the site...which groups I think are cool, what people I think are amazing!

This behavior will likely continue as long as the competetive avenue to the front page of SG is removed.

Just sayin'. wink

That is why I have four of those girls on my friends list. Because of their awesome.

And I am now interested in checking out the other two!

because 92% (not exaggerating) of the sg blogs these days are about sets that have just been shot, sets that are going to be shot or sets that friends have shot. we get it.

If you read enough blogs to make that assessment with any chance of statistical accuracy, I dare say you need a hobby.

That is a hobby. When did hobbies get so rigidly defined? In the last 12 hours? Do they have to include glue or disabused household items or autumn leaves or killing things or something? Sheesh.

Searched for an appropriate thread, and this seemed to fit.

I don't mind an SG that advertises her set, or even is selling prints or items. That's fine. The ones that straight up beg for you to buy them stuff off of their wishlist are really sad and annoying. It says in the model FAQ that these girls will get kicked off the site immediately, but I still see the same girls beg for shit over and over.

I know I should prob let go and ignore it, but it just gets under my skin.

I like reading a few behind-the-scenes stories if they're fun, say, if a model shot with someone new and wants to share their experience.

But endless weeks of posts (or worse, one post every few months about a new set only)... not so interesting.
