I've mentioned this a few time in various places, but...

I'm a little shocked about how rude some people have been about the site redesign. This is a strong community and the staff has put a lot of work into trying to make it better for everyone. Regardless of whether or not you like the changes, you should appreciate the work they are doing.

Some of the negative comments have been so rude it's embarressing. It's one thing to have an opinion but it's another thing completely to be an ass about it. If these same comments were made in regards to a model's set, the offending poster would experience a whole new level of backlash from the community, girls and staff.

It's ok to not like something. Just be civil about it and try to explain why in civil terms instead of acting like a bunch of 4 year olds.

Ok. I'll get off the soap box now. Next?

agreed completely.

i have not posted any opinions about the redesign because i don't love it, but i don't want to be associated with some of the stuff in the whine thread. i don't think anyone is trying to be especially hurtful - even most of the rude stuff seems intrinsically apologetic. still, though. be conscious of what you're saying.

and i *do* appreciate (as i think most everyone does) the amount of work that went into this. the effort the staff puts into things is stellar and incredibly admirable. thank you.

agreed.

i believe the instinct is to criticize or lament the design without regard for the human connection--without remembering or respecting that real people's real work (and emotional attachment) is being criticized.

you probably wouldn't talk to your best friend this way if they changed their hair or home decor...and while the management aren't necessarily your best friends, they deserve similar respect, by virtue of their, well, humanity.

Definitely true.

While I might not like some aspects of the site, "ohmygod i hate it i hate it i hate it" is just stupid, rude and unhelpful.

I appreciate it must have taken a long time to make, and there are some fantastic new features that make me feel all happy and sproingy ^__^

I would like to be clear that if any of my comments/complaints/issues/praise anything... came off as anything but civil, I apologize. I stated everything in a very: this isn't working, but I like this sort of way. I do have some issues, but I also have praise. I think the same goes for most people. But yes, some people weren't being constructive at all... that's not helping anything. I appreciate all the work that goes into this site, of course. In fact, I can't even IMAGINE all the work that goes into this site every day. I love this site. Everyone that knows me knows that. I talk about this place non-stop.

I agree, I personally don't get on with the site new site yet but I can respect what's been done and can see that the staff have really listened to a lot of people's opinions and thought hard about how they can make things better.

People are impatient too, every project on a scale like this has teething problems but people aren't prepared to ride them out.

It's just like when they change the carpet in your local pub. That's all.

I was discombobulated by the changes but I appreciate the effort, and the whole thing looks impressive. It's just a matter of finding one's way around, like everything else. We seem to have entered the New World.

word though...the comlaints thread annoys me for the most part, constructive comments aside. mad rude. especially in regards to the header banner art...an artist drew those with his own hand...whether I like the banners or not (and I do), that immediately should get some respect. are we adults here or what? there is a better way to express your dissatisfaction then "its ugly and disgusting". thats childish and unecessary.

a lot of heads don't like change - thats what it boils down to. the brats come out of the woodwork everytime something changes up around here. EVERYTIME. "I pay for this so do it my way!" oh please.

as far as the "it looks like a porn site" comments...I think it looks less porn-ish then it did before but...so? this IS a porn site, softcore as it may be. time to stop being ashamed that you pay for an adult site and grow up.

I'm glad this thread was made.

There were indeed a lot of bratty comments in the *first* complain thread which would explain its deletion. The second thread that was created by the staff contains (contained?) only constructive criticism and bar a few double/triple posts was exactly what the staff asked for.

But it has to be pointed out that several peoples contructive criticisms have been deleted for god knows whatever reason and even a request as to why it was deleted has been ignored. That sort of attitude does make people angry and I can understand why some comments have arisen just from that attitude. For a board with fairly open rules about posting this sudden censorship of posting is bound to make people angry, I am now, especially after creating a post and deliberately trying to post constructively only.

Change is good but when you ask for feedback you should not just discard/delete what is said if you dont agree, especially when put in a correct manner. There must be at least 10+ comments that have just been deleted for no reason I can understand. It's just a shame because now it seems to me that what was a fairly free board to express your views is censored in such a way.

Argh I hate this because it's not like me to complain (really) but with what's happening its just wrong frown

they did not ask for feedback. they were nice enough to start a thread called "bitch and whine here", not "we want your opinion". if sean hadn't started it 3575983457 other people would have. they do not owe anyone an explaination. do you think that if cnn changed their look they would even give you that courtesy?
i just have a sneaking suspicion alot of people used this to dis the site bot for the change, but to get out the frustrations they have about other aspects that may have been building, whether it was in their personal life or with the site itself.
just my thoughts of the matter.

Good point and perhaps I misunderstood the purpose of the thread, I think the change was for the better for the most part but I read that thread as asking for peoples opinions of what they did not like.

I am too new to the site to have formed any lingering gripes so maybe the comment was deleted purely on the basis that I have only been a member for a few weeks? But without n00b's there would not be one day Old Skool's. You are probably right that a number of people vented some angst in there as there were definately some 'bizarre' comments, to say the least.

Yes they should stick by their new design, after all they have no doubt spent a lot of time working on it, and its pretty obvious from the rest of the board comments run a bit wild. My only real gripe is now because of the unexplained deletions and it does make me feel a bit angry because I dont understand the reason for it.

Change is a good thing and it shows the staff care enough about the site to keep invigorrating it, I applaud that I honestly do!

i just think that the thread page count was getting out of control and that's the reason they cut it down. the comments were made for the staff to see, so if they saw them then there was no reason for them to be there anymore.
i bitched in it too the first hour or so after the site came back up, but now i'm used to it. once they fix the bugs everything will be aces.
