At about noon today we are launching SG VIDEOS.

We are experimenting with letting you upload videos to your profile and save them like the way you do with pics and albums. This is our first attempt at this and it is very very BETA. Please give us your feedback here, especially bugs and glitches.

Please try to be as specific as possible about the video file type, the browser and computer, etc. if you are having a problem.

We will work over the next few weeks or months to knock all the bugs out of it.

It's live. Feel free to test it out. There will be some kinks to work out, so we'll be checking here as we work them out.

You can post your own videos under the videos tab on your profile, and you can optionally share them under the main videos tab. You can also make them members-only or public, and that works the way you'd expect.

Testing embedding video in a post

this part obviously won't work
<object width="330" height="281"><param name="movie" value="http://suicidegirls.com/flash/videoplayer.swf?flvpath=http://video.suicidegirls.com/video/44/43299/3.flv"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://suicidegirls.com/flash/videoplayer.swf?flvpath=http://video.suicidegirls.com/video/44/43299/3.flv" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="330" height="281"></embed></object>

this part might

I'm getting the little "Sending" box pop up but nothing is registering and it doesn't appear to be uploading.

Windows XP
Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4

And then it just timed out.

Now, is this strictly for uploading our own videos, or are we able to have something like a favorite YouTube videos folder?

Are you talking about the one you posted? Did it work and just look like it was failing, or did you try again and it worked properly?

Huh... that's odd. I started the upload and it wasn't going anywhere so I posted that it wasn't going anywhere. When I went to check it again the page had timed out and given me an error so I assumed it had failed. Apparently that's not the case.

Gotcha. So just to clarify: the bug is that the progress bar wasn't working properly for you. Correct?

And when the video finished uploading there was no notification, just a page timeout.
