Microsoft Zune

Hey, I know that the site has podcasts, but will the SG girls make the jump to the new Zune? I would like to see not only podcasts, but compatible videos for the Zunes as well. They're really freakin' awesome and a total ipod killer this year. So, ... someone let me know if you have any idea if I can get sg on my Zune. Adios, mis amigas.

Just because they're called "pod"casts (a name which is changing due to trademark issues anyway) doesn't mean that they play solely on the iPod. As far as I understand it, the Zune supports MPEG-4 video and therefore should be able to play the videos on the site just fine. Even the wide screen is the same resolution as the iPod, so your videos are just getting stretched, and play at a lower quality

Oh, and I'd hardly call the Zune an iPod killer. It's ugly, the wifi only works with other Zune users, the songs you get for them you can only play three times, it's incompatible with iTunes songs or anything from any store using Microsoft's own PlaysForSure DRM, it's bigger than an iPod, the controls aren't as nice (no click wheel or trackpad), and it doesn't include any of the extra features iPods do like a clock, calendar, task list, games, etc.

Not to mention the iPod has tens of thousands of accessories and works with 80% of the cars released today. The Zune has none of that.

my device has a built-in fm tuner. nifty autoscan feature too. i use it regularly for public radio.

apple actually offers an
fm tuner for ipod for an additional $50.

im on the move a lot and its easier to just listen to npr or whatever on my portable than it is to bother with podcasts.

hey im not saying its the future, i just like the feature! i actually probably know more people without cars than with cars. people still walk/bike/take the bus/skate in nyc, sf, college campus... i guess thats what i meant by on the move.

Well, Excuuuuuuuse the fuck outta me. I got excited because I happen to actually like this little device. I don't give a fuck about microsoft, apple, linux, unix, et al. I don't care about name wars. I got it before the release date and I was just expressing my joy that I actually own something nifty. I called it an ipod killer because that's what I was told. I've never owned an ipod. just a little one gig off-brand mp3 player that sucked a little. And I'm kinda offended that you would make remarks like some of you have that almost offend me personally. I don't particularly enjoy being treated like a goddamned idiot becuase I like this brand or that. I think my zune is cool. I like it. Fuck you. I'm ashamed that people on here would actually behave like that. Like a bunch of kids. And I'm sorry I didn't know "pod"casts were a compatible format. I'm not a goddamn computer genious. I'm not even going to continue pursuing my Computer Science degree. So forgive me if this sounds like whining, but I just wanted to say that if you think so little of me because I own and enjoy my zune, you can suck my asshole. Thank you.
