You know, Albitard, I am sure you have a point here.

Why not just make it?

You know, it would be perfectly easy for you to ask him what his point was without calling him "Albitard."

I'm a bit curious about what his point was, too, but I don't feel the need to call him names over it.

/agree

In all fairness to NickFaust, he did have his name set as UpTard at the time he posted this

I love how I can almost always pick out what threads were started by you just by reading the title...

Reminds me of someone I know....Do any of these thread titles ring a bell?

NEWS: White House Kicks Itself In The Balls

NEWS: Hater of Dildos Turns His Wrath To Potheads

NEWS: Gangs Looking To Get A Nice Desert Tan

NEWS: Whores Try To Make Everyone Feel Like a Whore

NEWS: Powell Rams Foot In Condi’s Tooth Gap

NEWS: Bush Has Only Broken The Law 750 Times

NEWS: Fat Man Busted For Cramming Pills Down His Lie Hole

NEWS: Cameras Catch Congressman Being A Douchebag

NEWS: Uppity Iraqi Women Don’t Want Acid Thrown in Their Faces

NEWS: Success! Only 20,000 Kidnapped in Iraq Since January

NEWS: Boys Request Right Wing Radio Call Them \"Pussies\"

NEWS: Early Christmas For Jews; Palestinians Trying to Kill Each Other.

NEWS: U.S. Trying to Slowly Murder Brand New Democracy

That's not all of them, either. In almost every one of these threads, I've offered some opposing evidence or point of view, while also pointing out that the author is simply ranting and forcing his point of view down everyone's throat by making numerous "News stories" out of non-items. I was brutalized for it, everyone complaining that I should leave my dislike for the author's obvious bias out of the comments. If the Government bashing threads have the right to exist, you'd better believe that the terrorist bashing threads do as well.

As the saying goes, even monkeys fall out of trees, so even people who condone or iniate terrorism will occasionally denounce other terrorist acts. It is nothing noteworthy, just another excuse for UpAlbion to rant about some damn thing.

Holy shit! Do you mean to tell me that a thread was posted on Suicide Girls that not only doesn't attempt to blame all the failings of the Middle East on America, but actually points out what a bunch of hypocrites Hamas are? You're right, we need to get back to the Bush bashing immediately- enough with this interesting social fact that should be discussed.

They aren't even being hypocritical. If Hamas was blowing up Egyptians but then bitching when Muslim Brotherhood blew up Egyptians, that would be hypocritical. This is no more hypocritical than the US killing convicted murderers but condemning China for killing dissenters.

Of course just because they aren't being hypocritical it doesn't make their position justified. Believing that it's appropriate to blow up innocent Israelis in the first place indicates a severe moral failing. So... they're just evil.

For the love of christ. Get over it.

Get over yourself. You simply can't fucking STAND an opinion different than yours, can you? You've bagged on me for commenting on the quality of those threads, yet you can't take it when I point out the same behavior from you.

The irony of is staggering- A group of members who attack anyone that accuses someone of having a tendency to rant............*wait for it*..................is now accusing someone of having a tendency to rant.

Damn, that sort of reminds me of, I don't know- Terrorists condmening terrorists?

(And please don't bring Christ into this, you crazy right-wing Bush-bot. I don't need your religion force fed to me)

The message here is that the SG Current Events board is an intrinsically Liberal online community like Daily Kos or Democratic Underground, and that those with alternative viewpoints are guests - here on sufference. Which is, of course ironic for an alternative, counterculture, "free thinking" website.

Sadly this is not just Oyaji's inability to cope with other viewpoints - it is becoming the general culture.

When someone happens to say something "controversial" to the Liberal creed, the stiffling mob assualt descends.

It's sometimes fun and satisfying to cut off the heads of a crowd of people cornering you on a message board, but it is usually time comsuming, often tiring and frequently repetative. You also need thick skin.

With SG's unique demographic we really should expect open debate, imaginative debate between broadminded, politically flexible people.

It would also be nice to have editors reflecting different political opinions.

My complaint in this thread has nothing to do with others that I've made. I was simply pointing out that the behavior all of you are engaging in (attacking UpTight instead of focusing on the topic he presented) is the exact thing you have criticized me for. At least when I criticize the author of a thread, it has something to do with the content of the original article (usually how it is presented). These are just personal attacks here.

As I have posted in another thread, I have submitted numerous news stories, none of which have ever been published by SG. I would revel in the opportunity for everyone here to slam my points of view or attack me personally, but for some unknown reason my submissions are ignored, censored or discarded. This is the reason why all you see from me are critical comments relating to other people's news items. If SG would publish one of my submissions, then everyone could see how a nonbiased article with a non-inflammatory or derogatory title could open up some good discussion.

As long as all that gets published are thinly veiled sarcastic jabs at public figures that omit many important facts, I will continue to comment on how they are shit and take away from the quality of the newswire.

If you think they are good submissions and they don't publish them after a couple of days then post them to the CE board. As you can see from UpTight, they might not like his posts, but he can pretty much post what he wants. Personally I would like to see news stories split up into News and Editorial.
