This is kind of a ridiculous argument. People, for free, visiting a website compared to people spending twenty bucks for back patting partisan screed are hardly interchangeable or comparable.

No more ridiculous than the OP's argument.

I'm pretty sure Krugman, Moore and Franken have made the NYT bestseller list.

Again, forget about who of them makes sense. (Because, uh, Ann fucking Coulter...)

I'm just using the criteria of the opening poster -- the correlation between ideas and book sales, by partisan authors known for more than blogging.

True, true. But this guy has demonstrated that he is nothing more than a troll - and not even a very good one at that. I don't know why anyone even pays him lip service.

Actually I am not a troll, that's simply your manner of denial. If you cannot make a formulative argument against facts, simply pass the person off as a "troll". There are 12 step programs for that type of thinking...

There are several "liberal" talk show hosts on those "conservative" stations that do just fine even while Air America tanks.

And again you show you have no idea what you are talking about. Randy Rhodes was a successfull radio host for years before she was brought in to do air america radio. So was Mark Riley from Mark and Mark in the morning was a radio personality before them, so was Sam Seder from the Majority Report, Catherine Lanpher from the Al Franken Show, Rachel Maddow, Mike Malloy etc. Jerry Springer was a huge personality all ready. You really have no clue.

while you're checking arbitron you might want to check out how well slant head hannity is doing here in conservative san diego against the progressive in the same time slot, ed schultz. i believe the term "getting embarassed" is appropriate.

Are you being intentionally obtuse, or do you not know how to read?

a) Bones claimed that the hosts on Air America are inexperienced and did not "work their way into their slots."

b) Ghost Dance correctly pointed out that many of the hosts had sucessful shows in local markets for years before moving to Air America.

c) you suggested looking at ratings that have nothing to do with a) or b).

Please try again.

Obtuse? Moi?? I believe what you are doing is called "projection" in the psycological shpere. So here, allow me to try again...

Air America to Lose NY Flagship

Katy Bachman

APRIL 27, 2006 -

Air America Radio will lose its New York flagship station, WLIB-AM, on Aug. 31. While the left-leaning radio network’s original lease for the Inner City station ran out March 31, AAR managed to get an extension which only lasts until Aug. 31, according to an informed source.

Through an agreement with ICBC, WLIB will be operated as a joint venture and programmed by P1, a company run by former Clear Channel and Jacor Communications executive Randy Michaels. Michaels is expected to program a progressive-talk format, but replace AAR’s network programming with more local programming. A likely addition to the new lineup: Ed Schultz, the left-of-center talker syndicated by P1.

“To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves. We do not, however, comment on hypothetical speculation,” said an AAR spokesperson.

You may find this at that hot-bed of conservative ranting "Media Week" here

I love the qoute " Air America will not go SILENT on the NYC Airwaves..." Yeah...Randy and Al will be shouting their up coming broadcasts from the balcony of their office before they are kicked out by the owner.

Why is it so hard for you to admit your wrong, and you lost the argument?

Really, you can do it. It's not hard. Just say:

" Swiftsure, I was wrong. You're right. I am sorry. Thank you for enlightening me about these facts, you have opened my mind to a new plane of objectivity and logical ideas, for which I thank you."

OH come on! I was never trying to insinuate that there was no one on Air America that had radio experience. I do think that they have more than their share of people that are not radio people just "personalities". Al Franken, the face of the network, Janeane Garofalo, and many others are not. It's not whether they can do the job, but more if they have put the time in to develop their shows into what the people want.

Hmmm. That is to say your using a intangeble concept to pass a value judgement on a tangeble fact. Why don't you simply say something to the effect of..." I am SPIRITUALLY far superior than you" or " My extra-sensory powers have yours beat any day! Na-na-na-na-na!"?

You'd be making the same amount of sense, but then again, most eveyone here seems to have a hard time with reality too, I have noticed.
