Whatever. The Israeli's gave the land back.
They gave Gaza back. They haven't returned Golan Heights, or the West bank.
In exchange for what, from Palestine?
In exchange for not having millions of Palestinians inside their borders anymore?
Don't anyone read too much into this analogy, but if you somehow end up getting awarded your neighbor's pit bull as a court settlement, sure it's yours by right. But if the damn thing won't stop mauling your kids, maybe you'd rather give it back even if your neighbor doesn't pay a cent for its return.
Are you equating the Palestinian populace to pit bulls?

How is this news, and not opinion?
That's pretty much what the news is. Facts, and then the writer's opinion of those facts.
True, and though the newswire isn't a reputable news reporting agency, not many articles in a reputable paper, show, or otherwise start off with, "I felt sympathy for ____, but that didn't last long."
Kind of comes off in a douchey manner.
Dude, you've been here a year and you just noticed how the Newswire works?

1) Archi claimed they gave the back. Implying they gave it all back. I was only pointing out that he ws incorrect in that assumption.
2) If you want to get technical, Palestine had the land first. They were illegally occupied by Isreal(illegal according to international war conventions that were signed by the Israeli government upon the creation of the original state, and against the UN security council resolution 242). Therefore, Palestine is not obligated in any way to present something in return to Israel that they illegally took in the first place.

don't know if that was the intent...but would it really bother you if it were?

It bothers me that someone would equate an entire culture to dogs. If that were the intent, that comment would be both ignorant and racist.
I find it amusing that people seem to look for things to take offense to. The person asked you not "add any implied meaning" to his analogy aside from using the violent pitbull stereotype to dereference the "violent Palestinian stereotype" to a more neutral target. This would allow people to objectively view his opinion without offhandedly rejecting it without even thinking about it because of a bias to one side or the other.
You know the guy never mentioned the pitbulls weren't 3 legged and handicapped, nor did he mention their coloring, anyone want to take offense to something he didn't imply himself? Or does that only work if you are explicitly asked not to add meaning to something?

I just try and stay away from the politics stories. Like the plague.
Wise move. It gets repetitive very quickly.
Solution to all problems.

God, someone just had to...
No, I'm saying that maybe Gaza isn't worth holding to. Whether the Palestinians "deserve" to have it back or not, its probably in Israel's own best interest to get the hell out.
i've got sand from the gaza beach sitting in my bedroom and a qassam rocket that came through a family's roof.
read about my friend kitra who was down there for the month as a gonzo photojournalist here and check out some of her photos here.
quick question -- how many of you people have actually been to gaza? how many have actually been to israel? how many of you actually know settlers? how many of you have settlers in your family? how many have friends who are israeli soldiers? how many of you have israeli soldiers in your family? how many of you are friends with palestinians who live in gaza? how many of you have an actual human face on this situation? how many of you think you have a real grasp on the situation built on something other than opinions informed strictly by academia and the newsmedia?

What's your point? That's the kind of post that has all sorts of open ended implications and then when someone calls you on what you seem to be saying, you can reply, "Did I say that?" So I must ask, what's your point?
