Why do they call it the Warthog? Because A-10 Thunderbolt II is too long to say in regular conversation!

A wonderful peaceful use for such a fine killing machine! God, I love it for both!

I remember all the footage from the first Gulf War of the A-10s coming in with giant holes in the wings. Amazing plane. They used to fly over this mountain that I worked on, and while they may be somewhat quiet, they still scared the shit out of me in the first flyover I was exposed to.

I'm happy that they used this amazing death- dealing device for something other than killing.

This plane was always my favorite. The first 5 model military aircraft I built were all Warthogs. Then I heard them called tank-killers.


I couldn't get enough.

But definitely ugly as fuck.
