Prince Charles to marry Camilla

The prince and Mrs Parker Bowles first met at a polo match in 1970
Prince Charles will marry his long-term partner Camilla Parker Bowles on 8 April, Clarence House says.
The ceremony will take place at Windsor Castle and Mrs Parker Bowles will take the title HRH the Duchess of Cornwall.

When the Prince of Wales becomes King, Camilla will not be known as Queen Camilla but as the Princess Consort, Clarence House added.

Discuss.

Cromwell should have finished off the monarchy when he had the chance.

If I'm not mistaken, he was such a dick that he was initially hanged, then much later dug up and shot, just for good measure.

I think it was 3 years after he died, he was dug up, hanged and beheaded and then they put his head on display for 20 years. That's what they taught us in school, anyway.

Yeah, I just looked it up. He died of an illness, then was dug up, hanged, then beheaded.

Not the most popular of fellows.

Dickens sure liked him, though. Check out his Child's History of England. Chapter 34 I believe.

In this country, we had a revolution so we wouldn't have to care about or support these useless leeches anymore.

I'm not sure I recommend that for England itself, but it wouldn't be that bad an idea.

Well, he was a puritan nutjob, if I recall correctly, and we've never been fond of those in this country.

They can be a little bit annoying.

It says up there ^ that she won't be queen, she'll be called the princess consort. whatever that means. I doubt Charles'll ever be king though.

We had our revolution first...didnt work out too well, so we went back to the old system again.

No, I think she'd be a princess, sort of like Prince Phillip, Elizabeth's husband.

So does anyone know if it's going to be a ceremony publicised (sp?) on the same level as his first one? I wouldn't be suprised if they piloted a reality show para "The Newlyweds" from the wedding.

ENGLAND'S NEWEST SWEETHEARTS, CHARLES AND CAMILLA HAVE FINALLY TIED THE KNOT. JOIN THEM AS THEY TAKE THEIR FLEDGLING STEPS AS HUSBAND AND WIFE. FROM "I DO" TO "I TOLD YOU SO," YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS ONE SECOND OF :

ROYALITY TV.

i think I just made myself sick. puke

Can anyone else see it happening?

I think it's going to be a civil ceremony at Windsor. I don't think it'll be televised, but I'm just guessing.

I'm glad they're happy and everything, but I just don't care. A million billion other people will be getting married on the same day, and I'm happy for them too, but I don't care about them.

I've been listening to a local radio[1] phone in this morning and it's horrid. People aren't just disapproving, they're vindictive. "What he did to that lovely Diana" etc.

[1] I was interviewed for BBC Radio, and it was supposed to go out this morning. But it didn't.
