If Mr. Ann Coulter* thinks you're douchey, you've got a problem. wink

*I mean Stirfry, not Ann Coulter. I know it's a shitty nickname. Ann's gender is kind of ambiguous.

come on now, i'm not that bad... lol. i am pro-choice (that does not mean pro-abortion, by the way) and an athiest, so that takes me out of the "Rush/Coulter/Hannity" league right there.

Rush is despicable, and I'm anything but Republican, but be honest--the Democrats & liberals have their equivalents.

Who? Name one. And I don't mean "some guy on a message board". I mean, somebody else on national TV or radio. Franken is just as partisan, but he's not sexist, racist, or a homophobe. Or a out-and-out liar.

Howaer Ster is the liberal voice. that's rit a rip or a joke. i have thorght this for well over 10 years. he is the only radio personality that wields that much power, with that many listeners (and not casual listeners either, but hardcore, zelotous, rabid fans. both of them.), and he butts heads with "rightwing" ideals all the time(with the exception of the death penalty and guns).

you may not put him in the "political talk" class, but you have no choice, it's all you've got.

real, leftwing, political take shows are FUCKING BORING. be honest, love em' or hate em.... Rightwing talk gets people fired up, leftwing talk puts you to sleep. it's not a conspiracy... it's bad radio that keeps leftwing talk off the air.

Stern's always been more of a Libertarian. He didn't start getting political until before the last election, when he read Franken's book and ran into all of the problems with Michael Powell. Additionally, he's switching over to satellite radio due to the FCC troubles, something Limbaugh would never have to contend with.

I do kinda agree with Sitrfry that Moore is something of a Democratic version of Rush Limbaugh. However, I've never heard Moore spout such obvious hate-for-hate's-sake speech as Limbaugh, and I've seen Moore take plenty of shots at democrats as well, it's just with such a decisive split in opinions over Bush's policies and platforms that Moore has gotten lumped in on the Democrat side.

I agree with BillHaverchuck on Stern, though. The thing is, where Moore is an entertainer with a distinct political message, Stern is more of an entertainer that just happens to bump heads with the FCC.

However, I think it s a mistake to lump all those who disagree with the majority of Bush's policies in with the Democrats. It is entirely possible to disagree with the majority of both Bush's and Kerry's platforms, and the current overall Republican and Democratic platforms.

There are so many issues, each with so many different ways of approaching them, that left versus right politics can only choke the democracy right out of America.

Michael Moore's got a pretty cavalier attitude toward the truth.

True, but he doesn't lie about anything - he just leaves out details that don't strengthen his case...

This man was lying and spouting generalizations that were so blatantly false, it should have been a B Movie...

He also doesn't send his employees into potentially dangerous situations to buy illicit narcotics on his behalf.

Well the "liberal democrats" do have a daily AM talk radio show called Air America with AL fraken and others. Here's a link http://www.airamericaradio.com/

My new favorite word is illiberal.

Not even close, in my opinion.

Al Franken, Michael Moore, et all, might be sensationalistic, true. They might make inflammatory statements, also true.

But the majority of people you are talking about are intelligent, informed individuals who, while extremeists, back up everythignthey say with some form of factual data. The are well-researched in whatever topics they discuss, and they at least a smidgeon of validity to their case, more often than not.

Rush, on the other hand, says NOTHING of worth. His comments are, by and large, little more than personal attacks, blankent stereotypes, thinly-veiled propaganda, and outright lies. Rush does not do his own research, he does not have any credible background to be a political commentator, and is in fact ittle more than song-and-dance man. He's an a personality, an entertainer.

In fact, the only reasonable countepart Rush has, is Howard Stern. They're on the same level, intellectually, and credibly-speaking.

I wasn't implying otherwise... I just pointing out that there is an AM talk radio station that has risen up in response to the Rush's and Savages.
