Wow, it's just that simple. Facism on/off, huh? So I can feel safe as long as SG continues to exist. But when they shut it down, that's the precise moment we move from democracy to facism.

So you see there's no use in monitoring subtle co-option of the media by the adiministration, characterization of the opposition as un-American, or the encroaching infringements of civil rights in widespread areas. The only barometer of whether bush is truly interested in crushing dissent is the existence of these message boards.

And by the way, if you're just going to oversimplify the point I'm trying to make by pretending that I was saying that SG is the last and only meaningful bastion of free speech and it's all that is necessary, you're saying more about yourself than anything else. Yeah, you could say the wrong thing and be "targeted and investigated", but it would have to be a serious threat to the President or the Country. They don't have the resources to investigate every dissident even if they WANTED to. Maybe if you were a prominent figure speaking out on Bush I would buy it, but the sheer number of random people on the internet badmouthing Bush is way beyond any CIA/NSA/FBI effort to monitor.

That's funny, you should do some research on a webpage called "raisethefist.org". You'll notice it's no-longer a web-page. It's a funny story, you can actually find some pretty pissed of Republican's out there, that have made some critique's of what the Bush administration did to this 17 year old kid for his political affiliation.

It's a black list, and they subject you to extra security. I have only heard of a few activists being put on black lists anyways. I agree they suck, but they have used them as part of their plan to reduce the possibility of another attack, and as part of an effort to maximize the effect of their limited budget and personnel resources. You can't strip search everyone. It makes sense to submit people who are likely to be a problem to extra security. Add to that a certain percentage of purely random extra screenings, and you have a decent security program.

Well now you know two more, me and my partner. And one of the models on this site is on it is well. So lade da!!! I guess that makes THREE more "activists" you know that are on the No Fly List!!!!

Blame the other activists who have done stupid shit to ruin it for the rest of you. It is said that freedom of the presses belongs to those who own the presses, and it is not the Bush administration's job to provide you with a public forum to badmouth or otherwise protest him. If you want to protest, don't be lazy about it, start a protest down the street from where he is speaking. You have the right to do that. You just have to get out and organize.

If you realy feel that strongly about that, why not start a revolt? Murderously retaliate for oppression. If you believe in something as strongly as you seem to, you should have no problem dying for your cause if it comes to that. Words are worthless when not backed up by action. Make a stand if you feel strongly enough. That's how you get things done. If the politicians see how many stand with you, they will acknowledge you.

A baseless assumption that you make simply because I take a few moments out of the day to go online and participate in a community that several of my friends are on. You don't know me, or what I do.

I am willing to die for my beliefs. If you want proof you can call up the Eugene Police Department and ask for their police report on the March 15th protest in 2003. You'll see mention of the protesters that allowed the police officers to shoot at them with less lethal ammo, as well as the ones that had 12 gauge shot guns pointed at, and fired at their heads.

Or the DC police report of the pepper spraying, and beatings that they inflicted on protesters on January 20th 2005. That is pretty well documented.

I was at both, and at several others. I have been shot at, with less, and lethal ammo. I have had chemical weapons used against me, and physically beat.

Is that DOING SOMETHING????

Fascism didn't just turn into Nazi Germany, and Fascist Italia over night! it took several years, and several small steps taken by those in power. Most people that didn't speak out directly were never harrassed! Then the next thing they knew, they were living in a fascist State.

How many times does it take before you decide enough is enough?

Here's a few things you could do that others have done and been targeted for:

1. Make a drawing, or art depicting the president being hurt in anyway
2. Make a claim to be an anarchist, then link to a site that talks about how to learn how to shoot a gun.
3. Make a claim to be an anarchist or socialist, then make refrences to weapons you own.
4. Say in anyway that you support the Earth Liberation, or Animal Liberation Fronts.
5. Make any refrence to the fact that the United States brough Sept 11th on themselves, and do so in a public setting (see topic in the SG Current Event's Board about the Professor in Colorado)

There are five sure fire ways to get fucked with. I can give you a hundred other that can get you listed.

But hey, as long as you don't do any of that YOUR FREE.
